Usopp x reader (fluff)

So something happened to me today and I thought I'd write a small fluff to try and take my mind off things. I hope you all enjoy.

You silently sat on the deck. Your knees were closely pressed against your chest as your eyes were bloodshot from last night. "Hey (Y/n)! What are you up to?!" You heard Usopp call out happily as he walked towards you. You didn't say anything as you continued to stare at the floor.

"Huh? (Y/n)?" Usopp asked tilting his head. Usually you would be happily waving back at him a giant smile on your face. "Hey. Hey (Y/n)." He called as he crouched beside you waving his hand in front of your face. "Not now Usopp..." You mumbled your voice sounding sore and raspy. "Are you feeling sick today?" He asked a worried expression on his face.

You glanced at him for a moment before looking away again. 'He's your boyfriend (Y/n)...just tell him what's wrong.' You mentally told yourself. You let out a small sigh as you stood up causing him to look up at you. "I just want to be alone right now...please understand." You mumbled before walking away.

"Ah! H-hey wait!" Usopp called trying to reach out but failing. You went and walked into the girls corridor before sliding down to the floor. You held your head as you cried into your knees. "D-Dammit!" You cried frustrated. "Why can't I just tell him...that I'm not ok?" You cried weakly.

~Time skip~

It was dinner time. Everyone was happily talking while keeping Luffy away from their food. You just sat there in silence your plate still full. "Huh? Is something wrong with the food (Y/n)-Chan?" Sanji asked looking at you. "No...I'm just not hungry." You mumbled eyes dull. Usopp glanced at you with a small frown.

"Are you not feeling well? Would you like me to check your temperature?" Chopper asked looking at you with a small smile on his face. You cracked a small painful smile as you shook your head. "No...Thank you Chopper." You whispered. Suddenly you felt something grasp your hand under the table causing you to look over at Usopp.

He sat there still smiling as he talked with everyone. You stared at him shocked as his hand gently squeezed yours. You could feel the tears starting to form in your eyes as you quickly looked down. 'I avoided him all day... and here he is holding my hand...does he know somethings wrong?' Your mind started to run with all these questions causing your anxiety to rise.

You bite your lip before removing your hand from his causing him to look at you surprised. You quickly stand up before running out of the room causing some people to call out to you. You run into the girls corridor and fall onto your bed as you scream tears falling down your face. "What is wrong with me?!?! Why can't I just be happy and smile again?!?! Why am I blocking everyone out?!" You screamed angrily to yourself.

Just then a knock was at the door causing you to stiffen as you tried to hold back your cries. "(Y/n)? Can I come in?" Usopp's voice questioned. You just laid there tears streaming down your face. 'Let him in...let him in!' You mentally screamed. You just turned away from the door and continued to cry. It was silent for who knows how long.

You hear at small squeak come from the door being opened. Footsteps slowly made their way towards you causing you to cry even more. 'I don't want him to see me like this...I just want him to see my smile...' You thought heart breaking. Just then you felt arms wrap around you from behind as you were pulled into a tight embrace.

You laid there shocked tears still streaming down your face. "You don't have to tell me what's wrong...but you can at least let me comfort you when you're struggling." Usopp calmly spoke. "I don't know what happened... and I won't pressure you to tell me...but I'm always here to listen (Y/n)." He continued as he went and carefully ran his hand over your hair.

"I know I'm not good when it comes to strength or bravery...or telling the truth haha.." He laughed slightly causing a small smile to appear on your face. "But I'm good at listening to people...and bringing smiles to their faces!" He cheered his grip on you tightening. "So I'll stay here as long as you need me...and I'll try my best to bring that beautiful smile to your face again." He whispered softly.

You felt the tears start to roll down your cheeks once again as you looked back at him. He laid there a gentle smile on his face. "After all! I'm captain Usopp! I'm the greatest pirate there is! As well as the greatest boyfriend!" He cheered proudly holding a fist in the air. You just smiled at this letting out a small laugh as you went and fully faced him. He looked at you and smiled making sure his arms were still wrapped around you.

"I love you (Y/n)...even when you're feeling sad or not loving yourself." He whispered pressing his head against yours. "T-thank you Usopp... for being the greatest boyfriend." You whispered softly. "I....I love you so much." You cried holding onto him. He just laughed while rubbing your back. "Don't worry...I got you." He whispered softly.

"I've always got you..."
