Paulie x reader

You let out a small sigh as sweat trickled down your forehead. 'It's so hot out today.' You thought wiping away some of the sweat. "Hey! (Y/n) you know you can take off some clothing! You must be dying in that!" Kaku called. "Ah no I'm ok! Thank you!" You called back giving him a small smile.

You were always wearing pants with a long sleeved shirt or a jacket. Everyone questioned you on why you did but you wouldn't tell. "Hey (Y/n) can you come and help me out?" You heard your crush Paulie call out to you. You blushed slightly at this nodding your head as you ran over to him.

He was the reason you dressed like this. You knew Paulie had a problem with girls showing too much skin and was unable to focus or feel comfortable with his work so you always dressed to his liking so he would feel ok with work. You carefully listened to him explain what he needed help with.

"Got it (Y/n)?" He asked giving you his signature smile. You smiled at him nodding your head. "Yeah! Understood!" You cheered happily. You've known Paulie for three years now the two of you were really close friends. You went to leave only to bump into someone.

"Oh...I'm sorry Lucci..." You whispered holding one of your arms. Lucci just looked down at you before nodding his head. You never really felt comfortable around Lucci he kinda freaked you out. "Well...excuse me." You said before running off to do what Paulie had asked of you.

~time skip to when Lucci betrays everyone~

"(Y/N)!!" You heard Paulie yell loudly. You stood there eyes wide as a small trickle of blood fell from your mouth. "You know...I always liked you (Y/n)." Lucci said as he removed his finger from your chest. "It's a pity that things had to be like this." He sighed.

You fell to the ground in pain tears in your eyes. 'Why...why did this have to happen?' You thought looking over at Iceberg and Paulie. Paulie stood there looking at you with an angry expression. "LUCCI YOU BASTARD!!!" You heard him scream.

Before you knew it you had passed out from all the damage you had received. 'Paulie...'

~Time skip Paulie's POV~

I quickly ran over to (Y/n) after I was free. "(Y/N)! (Y/N)! Come on wake up!" I yelled shaking her in my arms. She didn't respond causing me to start shaking. "DAMMIT GET YOUR ASS UP!" I screamed. She ended up groaning slightly before slowly opening her eyes.

"Paulie..?" She asked quietly. I smiled at this letting out a huge sigh of relief. "Damn you...don't go scaring me like that!" I said looking down at her. She just smiled a small smile. "I'm...sorry." She apologized before passing out again. I quickly went and made sure she got somewhere safe.

"..." I looked down at her a small blush on my cheeks as I gently brushed a strand of hair out of her face. "I'll be back soon ok (Y/n)?" I mumbled before walking out.

~Time skip (Y/n)'s POV to Straw hats victory party~

You smiled as you stood by the pool with the straw hats watching as they laughed and enjoyed themselves. Nami had forced you into some shorts and a bikini top because of the heat refusing to let you wear anything else. "It's so weird wearing this." You commented.

"Oh come on! You look so cute! Also there's no way I'm letting you die from this heat!" She said waving a finger around. You just smiled at her laughing slightly. "You also shouldn't wear too much clothing with that bandage on your chest." Chopper said.

"Ah you're right sorry Doctor." You apologized to the small reindeer. "Hey! Straw hats!" You looked back only to see everyone start to join you guys. Your eyes landed on Paulie and you paled slightly. 'Oh no! Paulie's never seen me showing so much skin! He's not gonna be happy!'

As your mentally screaming at yourself Paulie's eyes landed on you only for him to choke on air his face become a deep red. "HEY! (Y/N) YOU'RE SHOWING WAY TOO MUCH SKIN! PUT ON MORE CLOTHES!" He yelled pointing a finger at you.

"Hey! Don't yell at her!" Nami and Chopper both yelled. You watched as the two started to scold him on why you weren't wearing your usual clothes. You just smiled slightly shyly holding your arm. "I-it's ok I'll just go change!" You said laughing nervously.

"S-sorry about this Paulie!" You stuttered as you went to go and change back into your usual clothes. Only to feel someone grab your hand stopping you in your tracks. "W-wait." You looked back only to see a flustered Paulie. You blushed at this averting your eyes from him.

"W-what's wrong?" You asked shyly. "Y-you don't have to change...you have to m-make sure you're injury heals and you don't d-die from heat stroke." He stuttered growing even more embarrassed. "P-plus you look really c-cute!" He yelled looking at you.

Both your eyes went wide in shock as you looked at each other. "Y-you think I'm cute?" You asked trying to see if you heard him right. He just cursed to himself scratching the back of his head. "I-I mean y-yeah you're really cute." He grumbled.

You couldn't help but to feel happy as your heartbeat at an inhuman speed. "P-Paulie I-I-" Before you could finish you felt something shove you closer to Paulie causing your lips to land on his. You both looked at each other shocked deep blushes covering your cheeks.

Quickly pulling away from him you covered your mouth looking away. "I-I'm so sorry Paulie!" You apologized. 'T-that was my first kiss!' You mentally squealed. "(Y-Y/n)." He called causing you to look back at him. He gently removed your hand from your mouth inching closer.

"I-I love you." He mumbled feeling like he could die of embarrassment. Your eyes went wide tears filling them. "P-Paulie...I love you too." You whispered smiling a happy smile. He blushed at this smiling as he went and gently kissed you again this time closing his eyes.

You did the same pulling closer to him. Clapping could be heard all around you two along with whistles. "FINALLY!" Someone laughed. "It's about time!" Another cheered. The two of you pulled away from each other and smiled goofy smiles foreheads touching.

"Hehe you're such a shy boy Paulie."

"S-SHUT UP!"
