The heavy rain pounded down onto the roof of my car, making loud thuds every time it hit. I sustained my clothes from getting wet by wearing a raincoat and walking out into the rain. I walked through the streets of New York, waiting for something that I didn't know was coming. I saw Austin running away. I followed him to the Empire State Building. I was forced to lay in the spot where he died. I closed my eyes for a second to imagine him here and when I opened them, Austin was standing over me, knife in hand. I screamed.

I shot up with a start, noticing my surroundings, I saw that I was in a hospital bed with wires sticking out of my arm. A bloodied bandage was on my arm where I got cut. The sun blinded me, disorienting. Ally was in the room with me, along with three police officers and Chris. Ally was still in handcuffs.

"Hey Lauren. how do you feel?" she asked me.

"Terrible. Where am I?"

"You are in the hospital. Camila found you bleeding in your living room. She said you were screaming at something. What were you screaming at?" Chris asked.

"Who's Camila?" I questioned. I've never heard of her before.

"Camila. Your next door neighbor Camila. The person that just moved in like a week ago. Camila Cabello." that's her name? Very beautiful, just like her.

"Yeah you can talk to her later, she's waiting outside. But can you please tell me what happened?" Chris pleaded.

"I-uh saw Austin in my house."

"Austin is dead. Tell me the truth Lauren. What were you screaming at?"

"And I told you the truth. I was screaming at Austin Mahone!"

After I had said that, the man himself appeared in the room with all of us. He was standing next to my heart monitor, smiling.

"Austin why are you here?" I demanded.

"I am here because you are not following these simple rules: Don't tell. Don't speak. Don't act."

"Get out of my head!"

"What's wrong Lauren? Lauren!" Chris proclaimed, rushing to my bedside. "Someone go get her a doctor!"

I was shaking in my bed, ready to charge at anyone who pissed me off. But then, everything just went cold and dark. I yelled for Chris but he was nowhere to be seen. I was walking around in a place with miles and miles of darkness filling it. The only person here is Austin Mahone.

"What is this place?" I interrogated.

"This is your mind. I am your mind." he said, maliciously.

"What do you mean? I don't understand why you are here."

"I am your other personality. I am you!"

He jumped at me with arms stretched farther than arms are supposed to go. He grabbed my shoulders with force and looked me in the eyes. His eyes were just like mine. At that moment, his persona turned into mine. He was me! I wanted to run, but I knew there was nowhere to go. I screamed, "What are you doing?"

"I am you," she replied, "I have always been a part of you. You have just never known it. I was the one that closed the file and I am the one that talks in the back of your mind."

"You are the one doing that? You need to stop!" at this point, I was screaming out to her, to me.

"Never. Once you are gone and I am the superior personality, we will be invincible."

I ran as fast as I can, trying to escape this dreamland. I finally get out. I opened my eyes and see that everyone is gone. Ignoring the pain, I ripped the I.V. out of my veins and got up out of the bed. I ran through the hospital. It was pitch black. I ran outside and saw that it was night time. How long was I in there? I ran to Chris's house, hoping that at every corner I turn, no one is there. I got to his house but the lights were off. I rang the doorbell at least ten times before his wife answered the door.

"Hello Mrs. Jauregui. Can I speak to Chris for a minute?"

Giving me a once over, she ignored me and questioned "Is everything okay? Why are you in a hospital gown?"

"These are my pajamas," I lied, "please let me see him." Did she really not know that I was in the hospital? She's Chris's wife for gods sake.

"I'll go get him," she replied, "you know it's three in the morning right?"

She stomped off into her house and up the stairs to get him. I heard the faint whispering of "Your sisters at the door. She wants you." that was followed by the stomping of feet down the stairs. I was greeted by Chris.

"What are you doing here? Did you get released early?" he asked.

"Yeah I got released a couple of hours ago. But, I need to tell you something. Chris you need to believe me, okay? So I went into this dreamland when I fell asle..."

"You have to be joking right?" he cut me off.

"No I am not joking. For the sake of your sleep just listen! I was in this dreamland where there was nothing. It was pitch black for miles. And I saw Austin Mahone. He told me that I am him and he transformed into me!"

"You were just dreaming. Goodnight Lauren. Go back home."

He slammed the door in my face. I got so angry that when I yelled for him to open the door, a screech came out of my mouth instead. I tried to close my mouth but I couldn't! I looked into the windows. Hot tears rolled down my face when I saw myself looking back, but she had red eyes and blood on her shirt. The windows shattered. Chris came running downstairs with his wife in his hands. She had her ears covered and her head buried into his shirt. When he got her out of the house, he put her down on the lawn and came to me. Chris's ears were bleeding as well.

"Lauren why are you doing this?"

I couldn't answer. Shoving me, Chris closed my mouth. I fell to the ground, shaking, unable to control my own body. Leaning forward, I jumped to my feet, closing my mouth. I fell into Chris who was sitting right next to me. He held my head and looked into my eyes. My nose, ears, and mouth were bleeding. I could taste the sweet, metallic taste of blood in my mouth. Chris, observing with a slight look of fear in his eyes, laid me on the ground.

"Lauren are you okay?" I barely heard him say.

"W-what  happened?" I uttered in a weary voice.

"You almost killed my wife," he said in a laughing tone, "you were yelling like no one has ever yelled before."

"Yeah I know that," I responded back in a sarcastic tone, "I mean like what made me do that? I can't yell like that."

"I'll get you to your house. Can we stay there for tonight since our house is kind of... broken?"

"Of course you can. But I swear Chris, I didn't mean to do this. I can't even do this."

"I believe you," he finally said, "I don't think you could do something like this even if you tried."

He opened the car and carried me into the back seat. His wife sat down in the front seat. Chris ran inside and came out with keys in hand. He turned the keys in the ignition, but the car wouldn't start. He picked me up from the back seat and started walking to my house, his wife following, like a sad puppy, close behind.

"We have been walking forever Chris! When will we get to its house?" yelled his wife, but their voices were muffled, quieter for my ears.

"She is not an it! She is my sister," Chris argued, "And if you can't accept that, you can go home. We are almost there anyway."

"Chris I can walk the rest of the way. It's okay. We're by 40th street anyway." I told him, trying to decrease the tension.

"No," he told me, "I will make sure you get home safe. You are my baby sister."

We walked for about three more minutes and we were at my house. The dark, harmful night haunted me as I walked through the door. The windows were still gone. Nothing was ever going to be the same. Looking down, I saw what I was wearing and it reminded me of everything that happened today. My hospital gown was dirty and wrinkled.

Throughout the whole day, though, one person haunted my mind. Camila. I wanted to get to know her, to thank her for saving my life.

I planned on going to work the next morning. The next day was Tuesday after all and I still needed to find out who killed Austin, even if it kills me.
