Camila's POV
"God that was an eventful day." I sighed.
"What happened Chancho?" My best friend asked hesitantly.
"A-fucking-lot. I don't understand half of the shit that just happened," I said, putting my hair up into a ponytail, "so first, I get hit on by the people who helped me move in, and I had to tell at least three guys I was a hardcore lesbian. Second, when I came home from work, my neighbor was fucking screaming! So I went over her house just to make sure she's okay, but all I saw was her on her couch, just screaming. Nothing else was even happening Cheech! So I worked on instinct and just went over there and held her. She was crying so hard."
"Did you get to see her?" Dinah asked, interrupting.
"I was getting to that," I uttered, irritated. I heard her mutter a quiet "sorry" before I continued. "Once the ambulance got there, I saw her face. And holy shit she was stunning. She has brown hair and green eyes D! She was the perfect woman."
"Hey! I thought I was the perfect woman!" Dinah said with a small pout.
"Whatever." Once I said that, she gasped so hard, I thought she was going to suck all the air out of the room. "Calm down! Jesus. As I was saying, she was perfect, but she looked so scared. When I arrived at the hospital after she got there, they said she was in surgery, so I waited. Not long after that, I almost got to see her, but some guy with a short girl in handcuffs rushed passed me and into the room. I was furious. She had a seizure, I think, while they were in the room. So I just gave up and left."
"Damn. Well it sounds like my little Walz has a crush!" Dinah sang, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Shut up!"
Lauren's POV
I awoke on a cold winter's morning wrapped up in blankets. I got up out of the warmness of my bed to the fridiginess of my kitchen. I walked out of my room and saw Chris and his wife laying on the couch, holding each other. I pounded my fist on the wall, acting like an alarm clock.
"Rise and shine! Chris time to get up for work."
You see, Chris's wife doesn't have a job to go to. She had shot me a dirty look and went back to bed.
"You can sleep in my bed if you want to." I told her, but she was already asleep by the time I finished that sentence.
"Chris," I started, stopping him in his tracks to the bathroom, "you won't tell anyone about what happened last night right? Because people already know about the hospital thing, so I don't need to sound even more mental."
"Okay, I won't tell anyone because I know how much your job means to you. Even though I'm better at it." He told me, arrogantly, running to the bathroom and shutting the door.
I put on my uniform, consisting of a white button up and black dress pants with heels, and ran out the door into my car. I started the car and drove to work.
"Last time I did this, I saw a dead body." I said aloud to myself, giggling under my breath.
"Yes you did."
I darted my eyes to the rear view mirror and saw my reflection looking back at me.
"Okay that was just in my mind." I told myself reassuringly.
"No it wasn't. I'm back!" It sarcastically yelled.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm telling you that you don't have to do anymore work on this case. You already have the right person locked up."
