I was in the car with my brother and my best friend Ally. I was driving with Ally in the back seat and Chris in the passenger's seat. The darkness filled the streets only being illuminated by the small glowing orbs on the side.

"I had so much fun tonight! Lauren, we got into a college party high school!" slurred Ally.
"Yeah that was so fun. Thanks Chris for getting us those fake I.D.'s." I responded taking my eyes off the road for one second to look at him.

"No probl..."

When I turned back to look out into the darkness, a deer ran in front of our car. I jerked the wheel hard to avoid it. The car, out of control, slid into the other lane with cars moving forward, set on hitting our car head on. Hearing the skidding of tires and seeing the brightness of headlights, I knew it was too late. A huge car smashed into the front of our tiny vehicle and destroyed everything. The airbags came out too late. Chris and I hit our heads on the front of the car, shards of glass hitting us in the process. The airbags came out and pushed us back into our seat with enough force to slam our head back into the seat and break the head protector off. Everything went black.

I shot up off the bench in front of the Empire State building with Chris laying next to me on the cement. It was present day, but I was still confused on why I saw that memory.

"Chris get up," I shook him. I checked the watch on my wrist and I realized that we had been laying there for an hour, "Chris we have to get to Ally!"

Chris sharply sat up and turned himself to face me. His eyes were glowing red, but a different red. His eyes were glowing with a blue-red color, like his eye colors were changing mid sentence. His face was covered in a devilish grin.

"Chris, what happened to you?"

He didn't answer, he just looked at me, grinning. He lunged toward my throat, arms stretched. I jumped out of the way, falling to the ground in the process.

"Your other personality must take over!" He screamed at me.

"What are you talking about? Chris snap out of it!"

"Chris is dead. It's my time to shine."

I leapt off the ground and ran as fast as I could and started running. I ran to the police department building and frantically went inside. With the doors locked, I ran to my desk and started to write a note on a sticky note. Sweat dripping down my face, I walked at a fast pace to Chris's desk. I stuck the sticky note to his computer screen and went back to my desk. The department was empty right now because they are all in a meeting about something I can't remember. I was actually supposed to be there.

I heard a pounding on the door. I looked up to see Chris standing there, his face still in a face splitting grinning. The pounding continued when I started opening all of his drawers and cabinets in his desk area. I couldn't find anything so I just gave up.

"I need to find a way out of this place." I whispered to myself. I looked up to see that the roof had a window and I had a marvelous idea. I ran to the stairs in the back of the building and started to go up them, two steps at a time. I got up about two stories of stairs when I heard the door burst open.

"He got through." I whispered. I was at the top anyway so I just kept going. I looked over the railing that saved me from falling two stories into the front area of the department. I saw Chris and he saw me, his face still stuck in a smile. He started to run for the stairs at a breakneck speed. My heart was beating so fast that I swore I could almost feel it burst from my chest. I ran until I got directly under the window and reached for the string to pull it open. After multiple failed attempts, I realized I couldn't reach it. After all this time fighting, a string wasn't going to let me down, no. I thought of a plan.
