When it was time for lunch I knew where to meet Matt. We both agreed that it would be better if we ate at the same spot we ate at yesterday. You know since Sarah has been bugging me about Matt. But I wouldn't dare tell Matt about it. Who knows what he would do. Anyway, we met up at the tables and ate together.
"You know you're really good at basketball. But even better at soccer."he said.
"Are you still trying to get me to play soccer?"
"Yes, yes I am."
I started to take off his jacket to give it back but then he must have saw me and then said.
"I hope you aren't trying to give me back my jacket."
"It's your jacket."I said as I put it in his bag."
Then I realized how cold it was. But I couldn't let him see.
"Close your eyes."he told me.
When I closed my eyes I felt the warmth of a jacket being wrapped around my shoulders.
"This time you are going to keep it till I ask for it back."he said.
"And when will that be?"
"Maybe sometime in the spring."
"Why? It's going to get cold."
"I have other coats."
"You are impossible."I said annoyed.
"I know."
Then we finished our lunch and headed back to class we ran into Sarah in the halls.
"Hey Matt. What are you doing today after school?"she asked.
I was nervous that he was going to say he was free because I had tell him I would hang out with him later.
"I have plans."he said leaving me relieved.
"What type of plans?"
"I don't see how it's any of your business."he said annoyed.
"Well it isn't but-"
"Well if you agree it isn't your business then I shouldn't have to tell you."
Then he grabbed my arm and pulled me away as a sign that he's ready to go. I don't know why I feel warmth every time he touches me. It scares me half the time. It's a feeling I've never felt before. What is it?
"Wait Lola."I heard a voice call out from behind us.
"What?"I said to Sarah as I turned around.
"I hope you know what you are getting into."
"And what would that be?"I asked.
"Pain. A world of pain."
That's when Matt pulled the plug and pulled me away to my next class. I knew what she meant and I had a feeling Matt did. Lucky for me I have no classes with Sarah for the rest of the day.

After the last bell rang I went to my locker and headed to the music room. I only had it till four thirty. So I just sang and sang. I used the computer to look up karaoke music on YouTube.
"And we'll be counting stars..."
Then Mr.Henry walked in clapping his hands with his mouth open.
"Wow Lola you have an amazing voice."
I didn't know anyone was listening. I looked at the clock and the time read four twenty five. I noticed that I was basically out of time.
"Um..." is all I said before I started to run down the hall. I head toward the soccer field knowing that Matt would already be there. But first I had to stop by my locker and get my running shoes. But as I get closer to my locker there is a strong smell of chocolate. I didn't think much of it till I opened my locker and saw all of my things covered in chocolate sauce.
"Oh my goodness."I said.
I could hear footsteps running down the hall.
"What happened?"said Matt as he looked into my locker.
"This was Sarah wasn't it?"
"I hate to say it but I think so."he said in a calming voice.
He helped me clean out my locker and then we started home. I didn't say much and neither did he. I think he knew I was upset and didn't know what to do. But when I looked at him he looked both scared and mad.
"What's wrong?"I asked.
"I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"I didn't get there in time. I could have stopped her. I knew she was planning something."
"This isn't your fault." I said.
"Yes it is."
"It's not and if you keep saying that then I'll be mad at you."
"Ok. But I really am sorry about what happened today."
"It's fine. I'm fine. Lets just pretend nothing happened. Okay?"
"Ok. Deal
