When we got to the school everyone was watching me. Watching me like a hawk. I didn't know why but I also didn't want to know why. Normally Matt would be a few more inches away. But once we entered the school building he got closer. I feel like he's trying to protect my emotions. I'm thankful that he cares but I don't think it's helping the situation. This whole issue started when Matt and I became friends. Don't get me wrong, Matt is my one and only friend. He's the reason my school days got better. He ended the lonely lunches, the lonely walk in the halls, the feeling invisible. He ended everything bad in my school day. But he also added a big problem, and that problem is a girl named Sarah. As we walked through the halls I heard a voice call after me.
"Lola."
I turned around and Mr.Henry was standing in his door.
"Yes?" I asked confused.
"Can I talk to you for a second?"
"Sure."
I follow Mr.Henry into his office.
"Do you want me to wait here?" asks Matt from the hall.
"No I'm keeping her here for awhile." says Mr.Henry as he shuts the door.
"What is this about?" I ask still confused.
"It's about your voice Lola."
"What about it?"
"It's amazing. You can't just hide that talent you have."
"Why can't I? I have for years. It's not even that good. You were never meant to hear it."
"Lola. You have a talent, and keeping that talent to yourself isn't fair to the world. People want to hear you sing. Who wouldn't?"
"A lot of people."
"How long have you sang?"
"I've sang since I can talk."
"Can I take you somewhere?"
"Where?"
"Somewhere."
"I have classes to attend."
"I already got you permission to come."
So I had to think. I knew for a fact that I didn't want to be here. So I was better than staying here.
"Fine. I'll go."
"Ok let's go then."
As I got into Mr.Henry's car I texted Matt saying that I won't be there for awhile, that I was going with Mr.Henry somewhere. Mr.Henry's car was very...different. It was a red Ford. But the inside had blue dice hanging from the rear view mirror, the seats had five covers over it, and the wheel had a dice sleeve over it. Does he have an obsession over dice or what's happening? Anyway I didn't realize where he was taking me. But when he pulled up it was a karaoke place.
"We're here Lola."
"Why are we at a karaoke place?"
"You don't have to sing for other people so don't worry about that."
"Then please tell me what's happening."
"I want to hear more of your talent."
"Mr.Henry I can't just-"
"You can and you will."
"You can't force me to sing for you just so you can judge me."
"How about I make it a grade. Plus I'm not going to judge you. You have an amazing talent, whether you're going to believe it or not you do. And it's amazing."
"Why would you make it a one person grade?"
"Because I can. and I know how you are with grades."
"Fine. One song."
"Three songs and I'll buy lunch."
"Deal."
So we walked in. The place was filled with different rooms. I've never been in a karaoke place before. It smelled of nachos and burgers. It must be what food they sell here. I followed Mr.Henry to the room. It had a mic, couch,tv,and speakers. I sang the three songs as promised. I sang 8 Letter by Why Don't We, Hopeful by Bars and Melody, and Please Notice by Christian Leave. When the last song ended, Mr.Henry started clapping. But not soft claps. Loud claps. Claps you could he's from a mile away. I began to slowly turn to face him. When I did his face was in amazement. I didn't understand why. I'm not good at all.
"Wow...just wow."
"I didn't even sing well."
"Yes Lola you did."
"Can we just eat now please. I'm starving."
"Yes Lola we can."
We ordered hot nachos and some burgers, some sodas and fries. After we ate we headed back to the car. I hate to admit it but I didn't entirely hate it. I enjoy singing. I know I'm good at it. But I say I'm not so people might believe it. It doesn't work that well. I text Matt and tell him we are on our way back. When we get to the school we walk to the office.
"Thanks Mr.Henry."
"No thank you Lola."
We went our separate ways after that. When I got to my locker there was a paper taped to it. It stated,"Lola and Mr.Henry are dating. Spread the news." I didn't have to think twice. I knew that Sarah did this. But I knew I could win this fight. So instead I just fell to the floor and cried. Cried till I couldn't cry anymore. Then the bell rung.

Authors Note: I'm sorry that this isn't as long as a chapter as I wanted it to be. But it's pretty good is it not? I know I'm supposed to post every Sunday but like I said I had a surgery and couldn't last week and I'm leaving on a church event tomorrow so I posted early. Hope you don't mind. I want to hear what you want in the book. So don't be afraid to comment and tell me what you want to see happen. THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!
