I know a lot of people who stare at other people in envy,
Their hair, their natural beauty, their body, everything, is envied
Who knows who's envious of us though?
The answer: We don't
We focus on all the other things that we love about another person,
When we should really love our little quirks and everything
As I see through my eyes,
My friends are all beautiful
They emit a light like no other,
And I wish they could see through my eyes
See the colors that surround them,
Or the sparkles that come from their eyes
See the passion that's dancing in the fires of their souls
I wish I could show them what i could see
When they're going through tough times,
I wish I could be by their side with them,
I wish that i could help them somehow
I wish I could take away their pain, but I can't
I wish i could understand their pain, and soothe the fire that burns,
But I can't
There's a limit to what I can do, to what anyone can do,
However, I know that when they're sad,
I should just listen,
I need to be able to listen to them,
And let them know that I'm there for them,
I wish they could all see their strengths through my eyes
I wish they could see their beauty that shines.
