One Hundred Years Ago...
Zelda and myself were walking through the courtyard of Hyrule Castle, admiring the beautiful weather.
"Such a lovely day," she hummed, the slight breeze ruffling her blonde hair.
"I agree," I said, as we walked past one of the large castle windows. Zelda was in comparison to me, the real beauty here. Her fine features and bright eyes framed by her luxurious, long blonde hair and her petite yet feminine frame created a masterpiece. A form befitting that of a descendant of Hylia herself. Then there was myself. Average height, thin, pale, dull shoulder length hair the shade of some chocolate stained slate. My only redeeming quality is that I often misled fools for thinking that I was weak, and I often left them humiliated in the dirt, and covered in bruises. I was quite adept with a sword, believe it or not. Zelda, however was all looks and knowledge. King Rhoam never let her touch a blade in her life, for fear it'd taint his daughter's scholarly potential. So I did it for her.
There was a slight ruckus coming from inside the kitchens, we noticed. But we passed it off as if it were just a lowly kitchen hand dropping a stack of plates.
"Princess, there's a small black cloud over there," I hummed, pointing to the sky above the field. She hummed also.
"I see," she said. "I wonder what it is?"
...
Screams everywhere, dark cursed fire burning and scorching everywhere it touched. The dead lay roasting in their own fluids from the malice fueled flames. Everyone was dead, the king and all the knights tasked with protecting the castle were all gone. I didn't even see if Zelda was okay, something told me to run. Run and never look back. So I did. I bolted past someone, my dress hitched up so it wouldn't trip me. I accidentally barged into someone, heading the other way. He was heading into the calamity!
"Why are you going that way for!? The castle's under attack!" I screamed at him. He turned a shrewd eye on me, arrogance exuding from him and kept running, ignoring me as if I didn't know what I was talking about. When I got far enough from the murderous scene, I spared a glance towards the castle. It seemed like a malicious aura was enveloping the castle, trapped within a see-through dome. It couldn't go anywhere for now, anyway. I shuddered and kept running. I ran until my legs gave out. I ran until they gave out and the last I could remember was three people running to catch me, then it went black.
