Paya, myself and the two guards, Dorian and Cado walked back to Impa's house. She sat there on her pedestal, taking in our appearance.
"It seems Cotera did another remarkable job, to bring you back,"
I nodded, "That she did,"
"In any case, I've a task for you," Impa looked me in the eyes.
"Okay, what is it you wish of me?" I asked her neutrally. I wasn't sure how strong I was yet, even though Cotera had saved me.
"Link needs a mentor, someone highly skilled like yourself," she said, "yes he's the Hero to save us all from the Calamity, but he needs to get stronger," she looked up at me, waiting to judge my reaction, "and that's where you come in,"
"So basically, I've got to whip pony-boy into shape?" I said, narrowing my eyes.
"We're all counting on you, Frost," she said.
"Does he know?"
"He'll find out tomorrow," she said, "from today, you'll start not tomorrow but the day after,"
"I'll try my best, Impa," I bowed respectfully, and walked back to my bed. I looked at myself in the mirror, I wasn't so emaciated looking anymore. I flexed, Cotera even gave me some bulk, befitting of a sword-maiden. Not too much to be disgusting though, so that was thoughtful of her. I looked around, where would a sword be for me to use?
There was an Edge of Duality on a rack above the door, I noticed. It was a fine blade. Not flashy but not weak. I grabbed it, feeling the fine razor sharp edge beneath my fingers. This could really ruin someone's day if used properly. I strapped it to my back, and scrutinised myself in the mirror once more. Much better. I looked around for something a bit more protective than a cotton dress, all I found was some leather armour, it wasn't flashy but it was supple and looked comfy. I pulled it on, my not very ample chest putting up much of a fight. It was fairly form fitting, I noticed, seeing how it hugged my waist and butt.
(A/N: i know there's no leather armour in zelda but i wanted something different- imagine the leather armour from Skyrim here but with a few adjustments)
The chest piece was intricate, it had a slight cut out that ran from under the chin, to my sternum. The neck however, was protected on each side and the back, leaving the cut out more noticeable. The shoulders had pauldrons on them, thick leather with fur underneath them to lessen any rubbing. The leather skirt wasn't too bad, split in the front and back to allow movement, and had a tough durable fabric pair of pants for the armour. The arms were the same, tough durable fabric for covering my bicep and a pair of tough leather gauntlets on top. Topping off the set were a pair of comfortable, durable knee high leather boots. They were enchanted by Cotera to lessen how much weight I carried, I later found out.
"I'm ready for this fool," I said. "It's go time,"
I looked myself in the mirror. Determined and stubborn jade eyes looked back at me. My hair, still that dull chocolate slate colour, I'd brushed it back and tried to braid it, but ended up making one big long plait. So I stuck with it.
No use changing out of the armour, and I might have to sleep in it more than once, so why not get used to it now?

Two days later."Link, I've got someone very important to introduce you to, they're going to help train you for your ultimate goal," Impa spoke.
"Hm, who is this person?"
"One of Princess Zelda's most trusted adversaries. One very much skilled in blades and whatnot," she said.
I pushed the door open gently and closed it behind me, not one to be rough with flimsy wax paper doors.
"Greetings," I nodded to Link. Mr Arrogance looked me up and down, seeing the Edge of Duality on my back, the tough yet supple leather armour and the determined glint in my eyes.
"Same to you too," he said, I didn't buy the fake friendly tone he used with me.
"I see you've got quite the task ahead of you....?"
"Link," he said, "And you are?"
"Frost," I replied.
"Yes I do, now if you're the one training me, I do hope you've got some challenging training tasks for me, I get bored really easily," he mock yawned.
I levelled him with a withering stare.
"You don't have to worry about being bored, boy. There's plenty of time to be bored when you're dead and the Princess is still trapped, barely managing to keep Ganon at bay, so its time for you to nut up or shut up," I snapped. He seemed taken aback.
"We've a long path ahead of us if you ever want to be anywhere near stronger," I said, sourly. "So get moving,"
"Where are we headed?" He asked.
"We're headed out into the hills of Hebra, there's some trouble the Rito need a hand with,"
"Rito?" He raised an eyebrow at me, as if I'd gone crazy.
"Bird people of Hebra," I answered, sourly.
I wasn't taking any shit from this arrogant asshole.
"Well, chop chop, leader, lead on," he crossed his arms.
"You need to learn some respect," I muttered darkly to myself, "And you'll learn it along the way, don't you worry,"

I borrowed a horse from Impa, her name was Ivory, she had a pristine white coat. Link rode a horse with ginger and white, think he called it Epona.
"Follow me, and if you get attacked, you know what to do," I said over my shoulder.
"I know, I'm not five years old," I heard muttered in reply.
"Well now, you surely act like it, with your attitude," I barked with laughter. It was a dry, humourless laugh. The kind that said "try that shit again". He just shut up and we kept riding.

We reached the border of Central Hyrule, we could see the castle shrouded in calamity clearly.
"We should keep moving," I said, "We still have to get through Tabantha yet,"
Link didn't offer anything, we just kept moving.
It was night time by the time we reached Tabantha Stables.
I swung down from Ivory's saddle, Link doing the same with his own horse, and we tied them to the lean to, along with the other horses. We walked into the stables, and up to the bench.
"Hello there, what may I help you with tonight?" The attendant greeted us.
"Two beds for the night please," I asked.
"One sec," the attendant looked down to check her book, "I'm sorry, we've only got one bed left, however it's rather large, and its enough for two people. Is that ok?"
"It'll have to do," I sighed. "How much?"
"It's a soft bed so normally 40, but seeing as its inconveniencing you two, I'll do you a deal for 20 rupees,"
"Fair enough," I handed her twenty rupees.
"Each, sorry," she hehehe'd and Link handed over twenty rupees too.
"It's just out behind the stables, there's a small hut out there," she said. She winked at me, "Don't make too much noise now, the canyons around Tabantha echo," I looked at her like she had grown a dick. She just laughed and I hurried to catch up to Link.
