luke was happy. really, truly happy. his life was finally pieced back together: he was traveling the world with his 3 best friends doing what he did best. all was finally right with the world.

sure, he still missed HER, but who needed a mediocre girlfriend when he could fuck any girl he wanted at any time? allison was pretty. and fun. and musical. she was the girl of his dreams. but then again, when one dream came true it was very unlikely the second would as well. so he went on with his life, not dwelling over the fact that his first real love had slipped through his fingers.

luke, of course, was not complaining about his life. thousands of adoring fans, a new girl in his bed every night, experiencing new cultures every month. it was heavenly. absolutely heavenly. but sometimes, he felt as if he was missing something.

currently, luke was strumming his guitar inside a cramped tour bus while the rest of his bandmates did whatever. calum was sleeping (no surprise there), michael was texting someone, and ashton was attempting to hold a conversation with the inattentive luke.

"this theatre is supposed to be great. really great sound. real great atmosphere. very mysterious. it'll be fun luke, really. we can explore and eat junk food and play a great show," ashton rambled, slowly getting on luke's nerves.

luke finally snapped at ashton after finally having enough.

"listen fucker, i know you mean well but you're freaking me out with all this positive b.s. leave me alone and go back to texting that girl you've been hooking up with," he grumbled, not afraid of upsetting ashton because he knew the older boy well enough to realize that it would not bother ashton in the least bit. luke was tired of everyone squirting around his feelings. him and allison had broken up over a month ago and the guys were still treating him like a broken toy. it was annoying, and hurtful. it made luke feel like nothing. but he rarely said anything about his true feelings. afterall, if he was ever anything but happy, it would be like a bomb going off. "ungrateful, spoiled, fame went to his head," people would say. and although he was genuinely happy, it would be nice to occasionally let his true feelings out.

the rest of the drive to the theatre was uneventful. the guys joked around, made fun of one another, and just had all around good fun. it was like any other day in luke's life.

upon arrival at the theatre, luke was unamused by the boring facade of brick and the carpeting of dust. to him, this place a junk. to him, it was underserving of all the happiness it brought others.

but despite his disgust with the eroding building, he had to go in. luke stepped through the cracked door, hoping beyond hope that maybe the theatre would be better than what he expected. what he did not know was that although the theatre itself was not the most interesting, the 'things' to find in it were fascinating.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

this chapter had elements that were made up, such as the girlfriend and the hookups. they're just there to add to the story.

this part isn't as well written as i'd hoped, but it's whatever. i'm not quite used to writing from a guy's perspective or about a guy, hence why i had a bit more difficulty with this chapter.

once again, do not forget to vote, comment, and add this story to your reading list. if you do so, i'll do it back!! also please tell others to read this ff, i would greatly appreciate it.
