Chapter 3: Gym Class Heroes

Alex's POV:

I walked in and looked up at him as he walked through the door that led to the football and track field, his brow was covered with sweat and his football jersey had the faded number 13 and his last name, Barakat, on the back that seemed to be flaking off the faded white and purple jersey. He looked up and spotted someone to the side and a smirk grew on his face which was slightly worrying.

It seems as if the whole world stopped and the room fell silent as he began to walk towards the side of the gym where some nerd was reading his book on the bleachers. Everybody started to stare and most just stood still. The smaller boy looked up slightly frightened by the much taller male that had eyes set to kill. I let go of Tay's hand and walked towards the other guy as he threw a punch at the younger boy.  I jumped in front and grabbed his fist before it landed on the jaw of the other boy who did nothing to the older male. His brown eyes locked with mine and in shock he lowered his fist looking into my hazel eyes slightly covered by my caramel colored hair'

Out of the corner of my eye I see Tay running towards us and it seems that he noticed too because as soon as she got to me he was gone. I could have sworn I seen him go into the locker room and as I turned around I somehow caught Tay in my arms before she knocked us both over and I put her down before hearing her mumble, "Hey you need to get changed; your stuff is in locker 14 and sorry about Jack his team captain title rides off good grades and from what I seen that guy let him down massive. He's normally a really nice guy, I sometimes hang and party with him if I get the chance. I think him and that Hayley girl go out right now but things are being said she's been cheating on him with Josh F." she pointed in the direction of another male chilling in the top bleachers. I was kind of shocked yet I knew it was probably true; Hayley was Hot and flirty which leads to a lot of confusion; I kind of think she was flirting with me earlier. I nodded thinking of what to say before leaning down and pressing a friendly kiss to her cheek, "I'll see you right back here as soon as I get changed." I walked into the locker room and found my locker and put in the combo that didn't seem to work and as soon as I was about to give up two hands found the way around my torso and unlocked it with ease. I looked up to meet the same pair of chocolate colored eyes and I was slightly shocked he was helping me rather than punching my face in but Tay said he's a normally good guy.

"Sorry about these old fucking things they tend to be a pain in the ass." I couldn't help but chuckle and turn and press my back to my locker now noticing his raven and gold colored hair. The black was natural but the blonde was bleached which surprised me seeing as he was the team captain. It was kind of long cut like mine but his looked better with pieces sticking out here and there. His smile was crooked but oddly perfect at the same time. I heard him speak again with his voiced slightly hushed, "...Sorry about earlier that dick thought it would be fucking funny to make me fail two assignments on purpose." He shook his head and looked at me and I looked back at him giving a forgiving smile feeling slight pity because I knew I'd be pretty pissed to.

"Oh, it’s fine trusts me. It’s just back where I'm from I was always the one being called out and bullied because well..." I motioned down my body at my clothes, "I guess I was the Emo kid."  He looked me up in down for a sec and chuckled, "I know you; you’re the transfer from England. I think it would be fucking rad to have an accent like yours. All the chicks dig the accent Bro." I couldn't help ut chuckle to myself, "Yeah except most girls find me a total turn off because I'm socially awkward.." he put his hand on my shoulder and thought before speaking, "Well it seems that Jardine has taken I liking to you Alex. Oh by the way...I'm Jack. Most days I'm pretty laid back but I tend to be a prick if you’re on my bad side." I nodded at his statement thinking about Tay, "Hey I need to get changed; I promised Tay I'd meet her in the gym. I guess I'll talk to you later?"

He bit his bottom lip and I could tell he was thinking by the expression on his face even though his raven hair hung over his eyes. He pulled a Sharpie from his bag and picked up my planner that was sitting on the concrete bench and wrote something down on the calendar. "I'll catch you later Lex...I hope you don't mind Alex is so...over used for most people but its suites you." With that he was off in the opposite direction from me and I’m still trying to take in everything that just happened. I took in a deep breath. Jack Barakat talking with the awkwardly social Alex Gaskarth...This is going to be fun. I picked up the planner and my eyes grew wider as I read the dark black ink that slightly bled from page to page. 

Lex, you should meet me out back once school lets out. I'll give you a lift home.

Btw, I love the Green Day hoodie, I have a Blink-182 one just like it XD
