Alex's Pov
I noticed we kept passing through town after town but I really didn't mind. I looked over at Jack who was humming along to, "I miss you" by Blink-182. I couldn't help but look him over out of pure curiosity. He seemed different from most of the jerk-off Jocks back in England. I was so caught up in staring at him I hadn't noticed we pulled up into a semi secluded area. Face it Lex, he just might murder you.
Thats when the anxiety started rushing through my veins.
Before I could make a break for it I felt an arm wrap its self around my shoulder and I looked just in time to see that cheeky grin grow across the raven haired boy with bleached blonde parts finding random spots to lay over the black mass. I felt my heart rate slow down as I herd his voice echo, "I promise I brought you here to see something and not to murder you." A chuckle escaped his lips before he spoke again, "You just kind of gave me the look of, "OMG he brought me here to murder me!" But I promise I wouldn't bring you here to kill you." He gave me a reassuring look before getting out of the car.
I soon got out and followed behind him with his words still trapped inside my mind then a though accrued, "Where would he take me if he was going to murder little ole' Alex Gaskarth?" Then it came to me. I didn't want to know...
I watched him walk ahead of me with a stride that made about two of mine and as soon as the wind picked up I caught a sent that was slightly out of place in the woods. Old spice and Mint. I knew his scent from the car but now it was like a little piece of heaven filled my nose with such a pleasant smell. I chuckled at myself before I got myself into a quickened jog and caught up to him.
"You know I was starting to worry you actually bolted on me." I heard the faint whisper come from jacks lips as soon as we got to a semi forested path. I couldn’t help but notice he sound slightly upset. Would he really have been that upset if I left? Well I honestly didn't want the answer to that so I got closer to him and with a slight toothy smile I began to speak, "I wouldn't leave you, yeah I may seem distant at some points but that’s just because I zone out."
It seems as if I'd been talking to a friend I'd known forever as the time went on. He told me he was taking me a little farther up the trail. Honestly I felt like I could trust the lad that stood beside me which was unusual for the fact I never really let many people into my life as depressing as it might sound. I mean less chances of getting hurt right?
I let out a shaky breath as two hands clasped over my eyes blurring all the vision I had, everything went black. I felt his body grow closer to mine and his breath began to tickle my ear as he whispered softly, "I want it to be a surprise Lex." I couldn't help but think of how cheesy and cliché this was but I kind of liked it. That was until a pair of bright blue eyes came into my mind.
I shook of the thoughts of Kellin as Jack uncovered my eyes and we were standing on a peak that looked out over the city. one word to describe it; Beautiful. The look out over the city was amazing, it seems as if you were stuck inside one of those Tumblr posts.
I let a smile find its way to my lips as I heard the soft hum of an acoustic coming from the bench that sat up close to the look out. I took the moment to see the way he looked when he was concentrated and the little amount of light hit his face causing him to look like some sort of angel in away.
I took a seat beside him slightly shocked at how well he'd played, you know for a football player he doesn't seem to be the stereotypical type. He looks like he'd rather stay home, watch movies, and eat pizza. Maybe Jack was different...
I was pulled from my thoughts once I heard a voice in which wasn't Jacks. he looked at her as if he was slightly confused about what the hell was going on. The next line he spoke was enough to prove I was right, "Hayley what the hell are you doing up here?"
