Chapter 4: Oh, Calamity!

Alex’s POV

I stare down at the black scribbling as I make you way down to my locker. It feels so bazar you know? One minute your just another new kid that nobody really takes interest in then the next your becoming friends with the very handsome football captain. Wait, did I just call him handsome? I shook the thought from my head yet I still can’t manage to get rid of the image of the tall Lebanese male that has skunked hair and an amazing smile that is burned in the back of my mind. I felt my heart start to falter its beat the more and more I thought about him and his fit body and those chocolate brown eyes you could get lost in for hours at a time. Maybe I...Whoa Alex take a breath before jumping to conclusions. You like girls. 

I shook the thought as I got to my locker and opened it to find a note card resting at the bottom that read, "Meet me out in the back of the quad during lunch period by the giant tree, I honestly don't want to have to sit through two hours of fucking lectures. Please save me and skip? I need and escape. See you later Lex ~JB." At that I honestly didn't know what to do. Should I actually go and meet this guy I just met today and skip class or go to Chemistry and fall asleep anyway...The dilemma is real... *note the sarcasm*

I put my books into my new locker and shut the door causing a slight banging sound from the metal on metal contact. I pulled my phone out to check the time and I bumped into someone causing their books to contact the ground with a rather loud bang in the empty hall way. I looked up to find my eyes meeting a set of bluish green eyes and a semi smile. His hair was black; it fell into semi straight/curly mass that fell to his shoulders. He pulled away from the gaze first and his smile grew wider showing his bright white teeth. I noticed something; he was the guy that skipped out on playing soccer and sat in the bleachers with Tay during practice. 

I bent down and helped him pick up his books along with a rather beat up looking note book and I took the liberty of speaking first to the rather cute male standing in front of me, "I'm sorry I kind of got caught up on checking the time." He shook his head and bit his bottom lip before speaking back to me, "Its fine, It happens all the time. I'm practically invisible to the world around us. For I am what people call an outcast, but being an outcast isn't always bad. Most of my teachers don't even notice if I skip lessons." I could tell he was giving me an, "I-don't-give-a-shit-about-what-others-think" type of tone.

I let a slight chuckle escape my lips as the slight anxiety left my system. I honestly thought by the look of him and the way he acted towards me even though I practically ran over him, he was pretty friendly  but my anxiety manages to get to best of me most of the time. I heard his slightly higher pitched voice speak out, "I'm Kellin by the way, I think we have gym together actually. My least favorite class of the day for the fact I deal with pricks like Josh and his friends in the Locker room." He shook his head causing his black curls to slightly move around his face. He was defiantly attractive.

Second guy today Gaskarth...Maybe you are bisexual. 

I think I spaced out for a little too long and he noticed me staring. I felt a slight blush creep up onto my cheeks as he smiled a bit brighter, "You’re the new guy Alex aren't you?" He looked at me as he spoke and I tried to hide my blush with a smile and nodded, "Um yeah, I transferred here today actually. My friend Tay has been showing me around. I feel kind of bad for taking up her time though." My slight accent showed through more on some words but I couldn't care less right now. 

"Tay is a pretty cool girl, I've known her since like fourth grade. I'm sure she doesn't mind showing around a cute guy like you, I mean she's one of the outcast like me." he spoke in an a mater of fact type of tone as his blue green orbs hit mine, "You know I'm throwing a Kickback tomorrow if you want to come. You could meet some pretty cool people. I'm sure Tay would love to see you there plus bring swim trunks." he nodded at me and I was slightly dumb founded before answering, "I'd love to come actually." 

"Great I'll see you there! Ask Tay for more details and stuff, I got to meet someone for lunch." with that Kellin was off. I noticed people gather in the hallway as the lunch bell rung. I let the whole conversation sink in. What would you do if a really cute probably straight guy asked you to a pool party? Alright I think I might have plans for Friday night now.  Wait...Did he call me cute? Woah Gaskarth pull it together, He's probably just complimenting you and besides that he's most likely taken. Oh the joys of you maybe being Bi, Gaskarth.

I snapped out of the little conversation I was having with myself and made my way to the back quad to me Jack.

*****Time Laps of about 15 mins*****
        Alex's POV:

I've been sitting her under this tree for like ten mins now with no sign of the very attractive Jack to pick me up and sweep me off my feet. Note the tad sarcasm in that one. But really it’s been ten minutes now and if he doesn't show up I'm going to have to sit through Chemistry and even back in England that shit was boring as hell unless you got a destructive partner. 

I was just about to give up and walk away before two arms laced around my waist and caught me by surprise. I felt my breathing falter from as the air in my throat getting trapped with slight fright from this surprise attack.  I could hear the male behind me slightly chuckle as I let out a deep breath, "I didn't mean to scare you Lex, I didn't know you get frightened so easily." I heard his deep voice and couldn't help but smile. 

"I don't scare easy...You just caught me off guard." I slightly shouted at him trying to sound defensive but let’s face it. I was just as easily scared as a five year old during a thunder storm. I could tell he seen through my facade and nodded before speaking again, "Right...Hasn't anyone told you lying is bad?" I slightly just shoved him and he chuckled not even being fazed by my movement. 

"Alright Lex, time to make a break for it, My bio class starts in five so lets get out of here before I get dragged into having to listen to Mr. Davenport long at us with his severely depressing monotone voice." He spoke as if he were about to die on spot if we didn't leave so I kind of just followed him to his black jeep that had purple and white going down the sides with the Ravens logo on the hood.

I opened the door to his jeep and got in before he did. Once he got in and Blink-182 started blaring through the radio. I had stepped into paradise.
