Alex's POV:

Beep. Beep. Beep.

I turn over to look at my alarm clock flashing the numbers 5:30 in bright red LED lights.

I yawn thinking about everything that could happen today. I mean it’s a new school and

A new country at that so of course I'm a tad bit worried about this. Wouldn't you be if you had traveled all the way from your three story house in London to a two bedroom flat in Baltimore with my mother and father. I let out a sight as I hear my mother call from downstairs, "Alexander Gaskarth get ready for school or you'll be late for your first day!"

I sighed as I pulled out of my bed and found my way to my closet looking for something to wear. I pulled on a pair of Black skinny jeans that had slight rips in the knees along with one of my faded blink 182 t-shirts. I went to my mirror and looked at myself shaking my head looking at the mess I am. I ran my fingers threw my caramel colored hair before spraying the closest thing of hairspray that I had left out due to my still unpacking of the boxes.

I slide on my converse before walk down stairs and meeting the sight of my mother and father at the table. I went to the fridge and took a swig from the bottle of orange juice earning a slight distasteful sound from my mother and I chuckled to myself on the inside before walking over and placing a soft kiss to her cheek, "Alexander what have I told you about drinking from the bottle, I know I didn't raise my son with such manners."

I found myself looking up to see my father have a slight, "Your lucky I'm saving your ass" look on his face before turning to my mother, "Isobel he’s a teenage let him do what he wants because he'll do it anyway. We were his age once too." At that I turned away from what was about to turn into an agreement which happened quite a lot now a day. I hate to see them fight because of what happened to my older brother tom.

I stopped at the thought of him and that night that changed our whole family. I shook the thought from my mind before shrugging on my Green Day jacket and walking out the door with my book bag slung across my torso and put in my head phones waiting for the bus. I hit play beside the Icon labeling, "Adams song " by Blink-182. I looked up to find myself looking eye to eye with a big yellow death trap. I know what you’re thinking, "You’re sixteen, why aren’t you driving?" Well the answer to that is my license isn't permitted in the states.

I walked up the steps of the bus looking around for an empty seat and I found one close to the back beside a girl who had long brunette hair and a pretty white smile with her head phones blaring so loud I'm shocked her ear drums didn't pop. I taped her on her shoulder and she looked up at me with a curious look and with the same smile as I sat down, "You’re new, aren't you?" She asked and I smiled at her and replied in my semi British accent that’s fading slowly from the move and becoming a mix of American and British, "Yeah I am, I'm Alexander...But call me Alex."

She nodded and spoke again, "Pleasure to meet you Alex, I'm Tay." I turned to speak to her but she had already put her ear bud back into her ear with the music blaring and looked out the window. I soon began to think to myself, "At least you have one friend Gaskarth."

At least I hope she'll be my friend...
