Well shit. I guess I really didn't want to die after all.

I went flying forward, bring my arms up to shield my face and landing on my already injured left shoulder, rolling down the hill. Seeing the ground, the undead, the sky, trees and then the ground again was making me nauseous, so I closed my eyes. It's not like seeing is going to keep me alive anyway.

After a good 30 seconds, I was surprised to find myself still alive, and rolling down the hill. I opened my eyes, getting tired of feeling scared, and bored of just blindly rolling. And oh, how lucky I considered myself when I noticed I was rolling right at a tree! I wasn't the only one who noticed, though. No it wasn't the infected, they didn't know what they were looking at, only that they desperately wanted the meat in the bright red jacket that was in front of them. Instead it was another person. A living, healthy person, and he wasn't alone.

"Look, infected." Allura said urgently, "and it looks like they know we're here. We'll come back later, we gotta go. Now, Pidge!" Allura started tossing their things into her bag, urging Pidge to ditch the tree and follow her example like the others before they got killed, but to no avail.

"Two more seconds! I'm almost done!" They yelled.

"Two more seconds can cost you your life! Let's go!" Allura yelled again, closing her bag.

"'Lura wait!" I yelled.

"What?! We don't have time for this!" Allura yelled back.

"They're not running at us! They're chasing someone else!" I countered, "And whoever it is, they just tripped." I dropped my stuff, slipping off towards the chaos, determined to help whoever was being chased.

"Goddammit, Lance!" Allura dropped her things, chasing after me, soon followed by Hunk and Coran, giving Pidge the chance to finish and pack up.

Noticing the others behind me, and knowing Allura's usual plan I stepped to the side and let Allura, Hunk and Coran, who luckily caught on to my interest in the victim before myself, pass me, jogging to the boy who flattened himself out, right before rolling into a tree. Unfortunately noticeably stabbing himself just under his rib cage with a branch, which, to my immediate surprise, only induced a gasp from the boy.

I could feel the stick embed itself in my side, soon followed by the sickly warm blood soaking my shirt and quickly leaking out of my jacket onto the leaves underneath me. All I could do was gasp, my head overloaded with pain, and I stared up blankly at the orange leaves, caramel hair and sun-kissed skin of the boy kneeling over me, backing the black spots that were quickly growing in my eyes.

"Hey! You still conscious? Good, stay that way." the boy pulled out a knife and carefully cut the branch off around the piece that was wedged in my side, but he wouldn't shut up. All I need is him to shut up so I can control my breathing again and not pass out and die and oh my god he picked me up bridal-style. "Lura, clear!" he yelled, making me jump and then cringe in pain, but luckily it was the last thing he said for a while, which allowed me to actually remember how to breathe. I was able to regain control of my breathing and distract myself from the pain by staring at the angel carrying me to hell, because I've got to be dead. Otherwise there wouldn't be a hot guy carrying me bridal-style, and there's no way I'm going to heaven.
