STEPHANIE MARSH BELONGED to nothing and no one. She was her own person and she wasn't going to let anyone change that. From a young age, she knew of her potential and was focused on seeking the fortune that lied ahead of her. Stephanie started ballet when she was four, became trilingual when she was ten, and learned to play the piano, the guitar, and the flute when she was thirteen.
Her whole life was practically laid on a platter in front of her and all she had to do was decide. She could've been a surgeon like her father or a chemist like her brother — she chose law. She began university at seventeen and graduated at twenty-three — she could've been a bloody lawyer if she chose to, but she knew she didn't want to do that for the rest of her life.
She found herself catching up with her old friend Brian, who then introduced her to Roger, who then introduced her to Tim. The four of them became Smile — much to her family's dismay. Being in a band wasn't exactly on her parents' agenda, but she didn't care — she was having fun and that's all that really mattered.
