"Tomorrow I will be crowned king Nourebese." Tchalla said as we walked side by side looking over the cattle and open land.
"Are you nervous?" I asked. Stoping to look at him. He turned towards me looking me directly in my eyes. Before he could say anything, I placed my hand on his heart and stepped closer to him. "You'll make a great king. It's in your heart already for it's nothing you have to strive for because it's already in you. Your father would be proud of who you are and who I know your going to become." I said and meant every word. It was as if the words became reality as I spoke them. My hand moved from his chest and to the right side of the cheek and his arms wrapped around me gently. "I will stand by you through every trial that may come. I love you Tchalla" I said. He pulled me into a hug and said "I love you too" and pulled away to kiss my forehead. Our beads rung right after the beautiful moment we shared. We stayed in each others arm and put our wrist together to receive the message. Queen mother face projected from our beads. I quickly bowed my head in response. "My queen" I said. "Princess Nourebese." She finished. "Tchalla my son, I need you to come back and prepare for your ceremony." She explained. "Yes mother I'll be there" Tchalla smiled and the projector ended. We turned to each other and sighed with smiles. I fixed his collar a little. "You got this, love." I told him. We held hands and got back onto our ride to drive back to the palace.I watched Tchalla go over things for his ceremony and my my mind wondered off. I thought about all that him and I've been through. After the ceremony we were to be married and I can't thank Allah(God) enough for it. We've known each other since we were in diapers and have been each others best friends for years. It was only last year, where he proposed to me at a dinner his family along with the royal tribal council had. Of course I said yes. How could I not? I've seen the man that I love go from a boy, to a man and then into a King. The king of Wakanda. Our home, forever. My mind drifted back into present time and I watched him as he handled the business he was given. I watched in amazement. I wouldn't want to Marry anyone else. I am in utter love.
I saw Tchalla quickly approaching me and I stood from the chair I was sitting in. Shuri came right beside him. I gave her a huge hug. Then I gave him and even longer one. "I am so proud" I whispered in his ear. "Shuri how do think he is going to do eh?" I joked about him. "He'll manage" she laughed. "Eh you guys think you're so funny" Tchalla laughed. "With those slippers on brotha, you are the biggest joke walking" Shuri laughed even harder. I couldn't help but to hold my stomach dying laughing. "Tchalla, it's 2018 you don't have to wear them any more." I added still dying from my laughter. Tchalla couldn't help but laugh at us laugh at him.
"Well I gotta get some sleep it's getting late and I want to be ready for tomorrow." Shuri said. "Good night brotha" she gave Tchalla a hug and headed to her chambers. Tchalla took my hand and kissed the back. " You should get some rest Nouro, I will walk you to your chambers." I nodded in agreement. "You as well Tchalla, I won't be the one crowned king tomorrow." I said. We walked hand in hand until I got to my sleeping chambers. We turned and faced each other and he kissed my forehead softly. "Goodnight my prince" I teased. "Goodnight my love" he responded looking me deep in my eyes. Our faces inched closer and closer. Almost breaking our vow to each other. In the tribe in which I'm from, the Maji tribe, women should wait to have their first kiss on their wedding day and that was something I strive for. I placed my hand on his chest stepping back a little bit. "Wait until the wedding my love" I said. He smiled at me and I turned around and entered my room and closed the door behind me. My back was against the door and I let out a large breath. A smile peeled on my face and I placed my hand to my chess. I reminisced about what could have been. " I can't wait till I get married" I whispered to myself. The fact that we haven't even kissed, and Tchalla has the butterflies in my stomach fluttering the way they are is a clear sign that he is for me. I quickly slipped out of my dress and showered. I washed from head to toe. I put on my silky white nightgown and slipped into bed. My eyes closed with Tchalla on my mind.
