My dream Saturday morning would be me waking up to a crisp blue sky and the birds chirping their sweet unknown song outside. Golden rays of the sun shines through my window and warm up my bedroom. Waking up in my comfy bed with a smile. Breakfast would be a delight with a cup of home roasted Kenya coffee and paired with a delicious looking butter croissant
But dreams only happen in your head not in reality.
I woke up with the alarm blaring in my ear for the third time. I flicker my eyes to adjust myself to the surprisingly dark surrounding in my room. It was pouring outside. I sat down in bed trying to collect my thoughts and rub my eyes only to find dried mascara.
I flipped out my blanket and jumped in to the shower. The rain slowed down as soon as I zipped up my training suit.
'I can't be late to training again' I muttered to myself
I slipped on my fuzzy boots trying not to get them dirty in the mud. I grabbed a breakfast burrito along the way to prevent wasting any more time than already did. I don't normally like burrito but I really don't have a choice at the moment.
The gym was already set up and other recruits were done with their warm ups and stretches. I dashed across the gym hoping Coach Edline wouldn't notice me and I got to my locker when I saw Pricilla adjusting her socks on the bench.
''I thought you weren't coming'' She said while placing her hair into a high ponytail
''I wouldn't want to miss Coach Edline class. Besides, Savate is my favorite martial art''. I replied slamming my locker.
''Dahlia Milan, how nice of you to join us'' Coach Edline voice was sweet but laced with sarcasm. Her curly red hair was untied and it fell down to her shoulders.
''Yeah, no shit Sherlock'' I wanted to say but only a timid voice saying ''Sorry I over slept'' came out
''Ten laps around the gym. Now.'' She ordered with a stern voice pointing to the floorboard.
I huffed and tied my shoelace into a neat bow. The fact that coaches here in the bureau treats us like kids makes me livid. The managements justify these orders by saying that it keeps us in better shape and better health. I rolled eyes at the thought of that
I'm completely out of breath after the session. As soon as we were over with it I rush to my locker to get some water. Cathy, Ally and Vanna were chatting along while I walk myself over there.
For some reason, my head shifted to the right and met a pair of dark brown eyes. Asher. For the second time, I rolled my eyes and duck my head hoping to avoid any type of interaction with him.
I failed miserably
I could see from my peripheral vision, Asher running up to me in his training suit that was slightly unzipped showing off his collarbones. I quicken my pace, hearing only my footsteps brushing against the waxed floorboard.
''Hey, wait up'' He called up
Part of me wanted to ignore him and keep walking but my feet betray me and stopped at the sound of his voice. I turned back once again meeting with his warm brown eyes and quiffed hair.
''What?'' I grunted out with my arms crossed. I thought my day couldn't get any worse
He stopped in his tracks and replied ''Hey, listen...'' His arm reached behind and scratched his head '' What I said yesterday was wrong and I shouldn't have talked to you in such a way. I had way too much drinks last night'' He looked at the floor, avoiding my gaze. The way he's uncertain with his words makes me think that this might be actually be his first time apologizing to someone
