Don't Leave Me

Chapter 2

Paige's POV

BEEP BEEP BE- I hit my alarm clock with glowing red numbers, 6:49. I got out of bed and got some high wasted shorts with a plain white v-neck, decided to keep it simple today. I left my room and walked into the bathroom to take a shower. I started the water and brushed my teeth while I waited for the shower to get hot.

I finished taking my shower and put my clothes on. I curled my hair, applied my makeup and stepped out of the bathroom. I walked back to my room to get my phone, my backpack and some grey vans then went downstairs. I got a chocolate chip muffin, still warm!

"Hey Mac you want me to drive you to school?" Brooke asked me.

"Yeah thanks!" I replied.

"Drive me too!" Josh yelled from upstairs.

"I'm leaving in 5 minutes so just be in the car by then, or else you're walking." Brooke said.

I walked out of our house into the September air. I got into the car and Brooke drove me and my brother to school. She pulled into the parking lot and we got out of the car.

"Hey Paigey!" Chloe waved to me.

"Hey Chlo!" I replied.

"Soooooo..." Chloe said.

"What's soooooo...?" I asked.

"Come on! I know you like the new kid," she said very loudly.

"Shhhhh! I do not!" I lied.

"Ok whatever, but we've been best friends for like 13 years. I know when you like someone and when you're lying. Just remember that." Chloe said as she backed away mysteriously.

I caught up to Chloe and we both went to our lockers. I got my stuff for Spanish and language arts. The day seemed to fly by, and the next thing I knew I was in math with Zack!

"Hey!" I said to him.

"Hi! I didn't know you danced at Abby's?" He said.

"Yeah, basically all my life. I didn't even know you danced!" I exclaimed.

"I usually don't tell people, that's why I moved to Pittsburgh. In Ohio everyone bullied me for dancing so I moved!" He replied.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I like that you dance!"

"R-r-really?" Zack blushed.

"Yeah." I giggled

"Class find your seats!" Mrs. Albert said.

I didn't even focus on math that whole time. All I could think about was Zack.

"Miss Hyland! What did I just say?" Mrs. Albert asked.

"Oh umm..21?" I said, my face all red.

"Wrong! Maybe you should focus more on math then daydreaming! If I find you doing this once more I will give you detention!"

The next thing I knew school was over and I was getting into Brooke's car. I was actually excited to go to dance today!

"Paige when we get home you have to change quickly because we need to get to dance early today." Brooke told me.

"Why? You need to spend extra time with your boyfriend?" I said as Josh and I made kissy faces at her.

"Yeah, maybe while I'm with Nick you could talk to Zack!"

My face got so red.

"Wh-what are you talking about?"

"Oh come on. It was so obvious how your face lit up when he walked in yesterday, and how your face is as red as a tomato now!" Brooke laughed.

The rest of the car ride was silent. When we got home I grabbed my dance wear with flowers on them, my dance bag with all my shoes in them and an apple. I came back out to the car and we left to go to the aldc.

We got there and I went to the den and put my headphones in and listened to my duet music with Zack.

We practiced the group and then Nia's solo and now Miss Abby is working with Kendall on her solo.

"Paige and Zack, Abby wants you for your duet!" Kendall said.

"Thanks Kk!" I replied.

I walked into studio A and stretched while waiting for Zack. He came in about two minutes later and we started practicing. Our duet was beautiful! It was about these best friends and how when one gets hurt, the other one has your back. Hence the title, I've Got Your Back!

"Wonderful you two! You're dismissed and I'll see you tomorrow. We will have your costumes in then so we will do that tomorrow as well."

"Thanks Abby." I said.

"Bye Miss Abby." Zack said.
