The three of us made Lockhart follow us to the girls lavatory where Myrtle was, thinking that she was the muggle born that had been murdered 50 years ago.
I held my wand to Lockhart. "Hello? Who's there? Oh, hello Harry. What do you want?" She seemed flirty, and I did not like that.
"To ask you how you died."
"It was dreadful. It happened right here in this very cubicle. I'd hidden because Olive Hornby was teasing me about my glasses. I was crying, and then I heard somebody come in." She finished "Who was it Myrtle?" I asked.
"I don't know. I was distraught! But they said something funny, a kind of made up language. And I realized it was a boy speaking, so I unlocked the door to tell him to go away and I died."
"Just like that? How?" Harry asked. "I just remember seeing a pair of great big yellow eyes over there, by that sink." She pointed to the sink. Harry moves towards the sink and began to examine it. "This is it. This the entrance to the chamber." We looked closely. "Maybe try something in parseltounge?" I said. Harry closed his eyes and began speaking the foreign language. And with that the sink moved apart in all directions, opening the chamber of secrets.
"Excellent, Harry. Good work! Well then, I'll just be, there's no need for me to stay." He tried to run away from us three but we held him back. "Oh, yes there is! You first." I said grabbing him by the sleeve and putting him in front of me. We all held our wands to his face. "Now, what good will it do?"
"Better you than us."
"Um but obviously, yes. Sure you don't want to test it first?" Now he was just talking out of his ass, I nudged him with my wand to send him into the hole.
"All right. Let's go."
"Oh, Harry? If you die down there, you're welcome to share my toilet." I sent Myrtle the death glare, as we jumped in the hole.
We landed abruptly and harshly. "Ow." I said as I rubbed my head. Harry helped me up and we immediately held our wands to Lockhart.
"Now remember, any sign of movement close your eyes straight away." We all nodded in response. "This way." Harry said as our feet crunched underneath the ground."What's this?" I asked examining the skin.
"It looks like a snake." Said Lockhart. "It's a snakeskin." Harry sighed heavily. "Bloody hell. Whatever shed this must be sixty feet long or more!" Lockhart fainted at these words. "Heart of a lion, this one!" Ron said annoyingly.
Lockhart stood abruptly. "The adventure ends here, but don't fret. The world will know our story. How I was too late to save the girl. How you three tragically lost your minds at the sight of her mangled body. So, you first, Mr. Potter. Say goodbye to your memories. Obliviate!"
I pushed Harry out of the way quickly, knowing that if anyone here was important it was him. "No!" Harry reached for me, and I waited for a spell that never came. I opened my eyes to see that Lockhart's spell had backfired. The wall began to shake violently, and rocks from above formed a barrier between us and Ron. The rocks fell all around, and Harry and I lept to the floor to cover ourselves.
