Maybe Elijah was right, how could I claim I knew Eric? We were flirty towards each each and kisses once, but never anything more.
I was currently heading to the dorms to find Ellie and apologize, and to see if she was still going to the party. I spot her on her bed, alone. My mind debated in whether or not to leave and just go by myself, but sure enough my Amity kicked in.
"Ellie," I say as I approached her and she looked up with watery eyes.
"What?" The harshness in her voice made me want to run away, but I couldn't.
"I just wanted to apologize. I shouldn't have snapped like that, especially about that specific topic." It hurt me somewhat to say this, but it was true. Like Elijah said, I don't know him.
"No, no, I shouldn't have pushed something that you didn't want to talk about and I'm-"
"Don't apologize," I cut her off, "The whole situation was uncalled for, so let's just forget about it. Are we good?"
She nods her head and her eyes soon tuned back to her normal bright ones.
"Good, now let's hit that party."

The pit was full of people and the smell of alcohol was intense. Ellie and I had only just arrived, and drinks were being offered from every hand there was.
"Ellie," Elijah approaches us and gives her a hug, than turns to me. "Rosemary."
His voice was cold and I could tell that I wasn't wanted.
"I'm going to go over here." I point randomly to a table that was completely empty and head towards it. Ellie tried to stop me, but at this point I was already gone.
I sat alone for what felt like hours, watching people all around me dancing and having fun, but not me. I constantly debated on whether I should leave or not, and really I should have. If Ellie really wanted me around, wouldn't she have came after me by now? No, she just let me walk away and stayed with Elijah, but deep down I know if I let I would feel guilty as if I left her.
"Having fun?" I look up to be met with Four's brown eyes and a sarcastic laugh.
"What do you think?" I ask while I rolled my eyes at him.
"I think maybe you should go, you know we start the mental part of training tomorrow and trust me you want to be well rested." He pointed at all the initiatives who were dancing and drinking. I nodded slowly, understanding that he meant not harm in saying this.
"Well, than I'll see you tomorrow Four." I get up to leave, but he puts a grip on my arm.
"Be careful." Four whispers into my ears and disappears in the crown of Dauntless people. I look for him and my eyes are met with Eric's cool blue ones. Quickly, I turn away to flee the scene.

As I walked back to the dorms, I couldn't help but stop at the Chasm. The rushing sound of water reminded me of my home in Amity, a place I never thought I'd miss so much. I sit carefully at the railing with my feet dangling over the edge, occasionally being splashed with water. It was oddly peaceful being right here, even though at any minute I could plummet to my death.
"You're still not thinking of jumping, are you?" I hear footsteps behind me, but I don't need to turn around to know that it's Eric.
"It's peaceful down here at night, and no I'm still not going to jump." I don't hear anything from him, but I can feel his presence as he sits next to me.
"What's so peaceful about a place that's filled if death?" He asks and I remain silent, not knowing how to answer.
"You're a transfer." I finally state after a few minutes. I turn to face him, but his eyes won't meet mine.
"Yes, your point?" He asks me. And I don't know what my point is.
"I just thought you were a Dauntless born is all." He finally faces me and I could see a expression of pain on his face.
"How'd you know?" His eyes are filled with curiosity.
"You're smart, you analyze things more than others would and your knowledge is incredible. Kinda like a Erudite," I see him cringe at the word and that when I know to stop. "But I can't figure out where you transferred from."
I finish up with a lie that I know he probably doesn't believe. He purses his lips and goes into a thinking mode, that's when I notice his hand on top of mine. Eric looks over to ours hands, and than back at me.
"You aren't scared of me, Amity?" He asks quietly.
"Why? Should I be?" He nods slowly.
"I tend to hurt people I like." He takes his hand away from mine and gets up to walk away, but I stay where I'm at.
"And I tend to take risks," my words cause him to stop and turn around.
"Maybe you should get back your dorm, new training starts tomorrow." I get up and his eyes are on me the whole time. Finally, he turns to walk away.
But something in me grabbed his arm to stay.
"What, no goodnight kiss?" I ask playfully causing him to laugh.
Then he takes his rough hands and place them around my face. He stares at me for a moment, before placing his soft lips on mine.
