I never found out what Max said about Eric and I, and I probably never would. I tried countless of times to talk to Eric, but every time he would just turn away. I didn't mean anything to him anymore.

"Hellooo, are you listening?" Glimmer snaps her fingers in front of my face.

"Oh yeah, sorry." I couldn't concentrate on whatever story Glimmer was saying to me, all I could think about was Eric.

"Listen up initiatives," the booming voice of Max fills the room,"today you will become official Dauntless members. After weeks of hard work and dedication, you will finally belong to this faction. There will be a celebration held to honor you all, but for now we honor you with a feast."

Trays of food filled to the top are soon placed in front of us, each one looking extraordinarily delicious. As I'm about to grab the food, a angry looking Max appears at my side.

"Rosemary, may I speak with you?" I stop to look at him, and than back at the food.

I sigh, "Yessir."

As I walk away, I look longingly at the food and than at the laughing Glimmer at my table.

"Is this abou-"

"I want to offer you a leadership position," Max cuts straight to the point, cutting me off while doing so.

"If you accept the offer, you'll be helping with training next year along with Eric and Four," he continues to explain.

I tense up at both of the names, " I- uh don't know."

He nods at me," I understand. But this position builds lots of good friendships and give you a lot of useful skills. And your own apartment is included."

I think about his offer before making a decision, but I already know my answer, even if it is a short amount of time to do so. This could help me get Eric back, and my own apartment would be amazing.

"Yes, Id like to take up the offer."

I knocked of the office door lightly, knowing the greeting I'll receive isn't not going to be ideal.

Eric's face is looks tired, but it's still a beautiful sight. His expression is emotionless and he smells Of alcohol.

"I need the keys to," I stop to read the paper Max had gave me,"room 113."

He doesn't even respond to me, all he does is grab the keys from behind the desk and practically throw the men at me. He than goes back to his spot at his desk, his eyes focused on the screen in front of him.

"Eric," he doesn't look at me,"Eric please look at me."

His eyes slowly transfer from his computer to me, they were sad.

"I don't like Four, he"

"That's not what the cameras showed," his voice makes my heart flutter, even if he hates my guts.

"He kissed me and-" I stop myself from yelling.

"And I want you to know that I have a leadership position. Max told me we'd be spending time together during next years training, and even if we're not a couple I still want a relationship with you. So please, will you just talk to me?" The pleading in my voice was incredibly unpleasant, but at this point I didn't care.

Eric gets up from his chair and start to walk towards me, his hands reaching towards me as well. The butterflies in my stomach are going crazy as he gets closer, but he isn't reaching from me. Instead, he pushes the door open and gestured me out.

"See you at the celebration, amity." He says with a cold, stern voice.

Ant that's when I knew, I had lost Eric from my life.

Eric's POV:

The party was intensely loud, something I didn't enjoy too much. Parties were fun, but not when I was mourning the lost of a potential relationship.

As I walked around the room, I spotted him. The man who had the decency to kiss my girl, what the hell was going through his mind? I wanted to kill Four, to give him a slow painful death that he deserved.

My eyes lingered on him for a few seconds, but then the appearance of Rosemary caused me to look away. She walked into the party looking as stunning as ever, and she didn't even need to try. Everything about her was beautiful, from her long curly hair to every freckle that covered her face. I've never felt this way about anyone, not even Glimmer. Rosemary was a special women, but I lost her.

A few hours into the party and my eyes were still on Rosemary. I watched her as she spoke to here friends, some being the opposite gender. They were handsome guys, something even I could admit, I couldn't compare to them.

I didn't realize I was staring so much, Rosemary's eyes soon met mine and she sent me a small wave. Why the fuck was she so addictive? My feet must've not gotten the memo, because soon the were walking towards her and I couldn't get myself to stop. Her eyes followed me the whole time I went towards her, and mine never left hers.

"Rosemary," I say once I'm close enough.

"Eric,"she says back. I give her a small smile and than turn to the few boys around her, giving a look implying that they needed to leave. Within seconds, they scattered.

"I'm sorry," was all I could make out.

"I accept your apology," both of our answers were short and sweet.

I looked around the party, it didn't seem like our thing. "Want to get it of here?"

"Sure," her head was bowed down and I couldn't see her face.

I took my hand and lifted her head up, than without thinking- about Max's warning or about the hundreds of eyes around us- I planted my lips on hers.

Rosemary's POV:

His lips were on mine- his rough, soft lips connected with mine. The roaring sound of Dauntless filled my ears and I couldn't help but smile.

Not only did I get the perfect guy, I was in the perfect place.

What could be better than this?
