I opened my eyes to a sleeping Brendon laying next to me, looking peaceful and beautiful as always. It almost made me forget that it was 7am and we needed to go to school.
I leaned forward pressed my lips against Brendon's, which I hopes would wake him up. (It worked in all the romance movies I've watched (it had to work (right?)))
That wasn't the case. Brendon shifted slightly but kept laying there. I kissed him again, with no response... So, I resorted to the hard way.
I grabbed the pillow that I had slept on and whacked him in the face. Not too hard though, I didn't want to hurt him. I earned a chuckle and his big brown eyes fluttered open.
"A chuckle?" I blinked. "That's all?"
He stared at me.
"You're not pissed because I just whacked you with a pillow?"
He shook his head. "I woke up when you kissed me the first time,"
I blinked again. "Oh..."
"I just wanted to see what else you would do." He smirked and leaned up to kiss my forehead.
I felt my cheeks get warm and Brendon smiled widely, but I stopped him before he could say anything. "Don't you even, Brendon Urie."
He giggled. "You're blushing, Ryan Ross."
We then got up and dressed quickly for school. I jumped in a quick shower as Brendon made coffee. Once we were ready, Brendon and I grabbed our backpacks and headed out the door.
On the way to school Brendon and I talked about our least favorite and favorite teachers. They were pretty much the same. We were pretty much the same.
We liked most of the same music, hated the same people and classes, both loved pizza, (but who doesn't love pizza (Pete loves pizza, a lot.)) and we both loved to write.
It was quiet as we approached the school. There were separate conversations going on all around Brendon and I as we walked inside. A few people glanced at us as we walked by but we paid little attention to it.
We went inside and sat next to our friends, who asked where we were yesterday. We looked at each other for a split second then simultaneously said "Sick."
"Sure," Pete wriggled his eyebrows.
"Shut up, Wentz." Brendon playfully punched his shoulder.
-.-.-.-.-.-
The rest of the day was quite boring after being with Brendon all day yesterday and today barely at all.
I did run into Gerard while walking off campus, though.
"Hey, Ryan." He smiled at the ground.
"Hey, Gerard," I smiled back. It was still so awkward being so nice around my ex-bully. "Sorry about yesterday, I didn't feel good when I woke up and-"
"Nah," he looked up at me. "It's okay."
"Thanks." I clenched my books tighter to my chest.
"I saw you with Brendon yesterday." Gerard said out-of-the-blue.
"Oh," I swallowed, my mouth suddenly dry. "You did."
"Yeah," he smiled. He looked sad, almost like a puppy who wanted a treat for going to the bathroom outside. "Are you two an item?"
I think my heart sank to my stomach in that moment. Out of guilt, and out of self-pity. "No," I replied in a tiny voice.
"Oh," he looked down at the ground again. "That's a shame, You two are cute together."
