Bethany walked over to Sherlock's room.

"Beth?" Sherlock's voice was weak and hurt. Bethany tilted her head in confusion.

"Sherlock. What's wrong?" her tone was alarming as she slowly walked into the room. She found Sherlock resting on the floor.

"Oh. Nothing. I just fell." Sherlock lifted himself off of the floor.

"Alright." Bethany's voice lowered. She was glad that Sherlock wasn't hurt or anything.

"We have a new case," Sherlock started.

"Oh that's great!" Beth cheered. "Sorry..." She mumbled realising she had just inturrupted Sherlock.

"I think you should rest on this one. Let John and I handle it." Sherlock's voice was firm.

"Sherlock. I want to take this case." Bethany protested.

"You're recovering from an injury. I'll talk to Lestrade and tell him you need rest." Sherlock stood up and walked out of the room.

"Sherlock!" Bethany chased after him.

"No, Beth. You're not working on this case. That's final." Sherlock exited 221B Baker Street in a storm.

"Why isn't Beth working with us?" John questioned.

"She needs rest." Sherlock groaned. He and John slipped into the cab.

"That's not the only reason, Sherlock. Why isn't she working the case?" John asked again.

"This case..." Sherlock hesitated. "It's too personal for her. It envolves the murder of her mother." Sherlock remembered what Bethany had told him.

'My mother went missing while we were out on a hike one day. She knew the woods so well, she wouldn't have gotten lost. Someone took her. She was a reporter, so I guess she found something she wasn't supposed to. The police didn't really look Ito it though. Anyway, one year later, my dad decided he couldn't manage a kid. So he took me out to a park about twenty miles from our house. He said he was going to go get his water bottle. I got worried after ten minutes. So I went to the car to find that he was gone. He left me at a park. Across the street was a child's home. So I went there and lived with a foster family.'

Her voice was breaking when she told Sherlock the story. He conformed her and told her that he would never leave her.

"Oi, Sherlock. We're here." John waved his hand in front of Sherlock's eyes.

"Right." Sherlock shot back into reality and left the car.

Sherlock and John walked into the room where the body was. Sherlock saw a sobbing man in the corner. Sherlock stormed over to him.

"Hello. I'm Sherlock Holmes. Are you Mr. Greene?" Sherlock asked in a harsh tone. The man wiped his eyes and nodded.

"Yes. I can't believe that my wife was murdered. Why are didn't they look for her?!? She would still be alive." The man sobbed.

"And you wouldn't have caused your daughter so much pain." Sherlock spat. Mr. Greene looked at Sherlock with a shocked expression.

"Wow. You really are as good as they say!" Mr. Greene lightly chuckled. "How'd you get that from looking at me?" Sherlock stepped closer to the man.

"I'm dating your daughter, Mr. Greene." Sherlock whispered.

"My daughter? Bethany? My little Bethy-Boo? She's here? I haven't seen her in 20 years!" He said. "Please, call me Peter."

"Alright, Peter. Yes. She is here. You are not going near her. She still hasn't forgiven you. I love her and I won't let you hurt her. So you better stay away from her." Sherlock threatened. Peter gasped.

"I don't know who you think you are, Sherlock. I am her father. I can make sure that you are forced to stay away from her." Peter spat.

"No. You won't do that. You left her when she needed you most. I didn't. She was shot twice, and I stayed by her the whole time. Then, she was stuck in Royal Hope Hospital when it went to the moon. I haven't left her side since. Except for now. She's at home because this would be to upsetting for her. I don't want to ever see her in pain again. Seeing you or being forced to never see me again will only cause her more pain. I think you've done enough, Peter." Sherlock said. Peter's eyes began to tear.

"She was shot? Twice?! How?" He yelled.

"We were on a murder case. Some psych killed her girlfriend. Bethany chased the girl and I got stuck. Then, when I wasn't there to protect her, she got shot in the side. Then at the hospital, the psych moved us. The woman shot at me, and Beth freaked out and stabbed the woman in the neck with a needle. In the process, the psycho shot Beth's leg." Sherlock explained. Peter covered his mouth.

"She was in Royal Hope Hospital? Wait. The woman on TV. That was my Bethant?!?" Peter realised that his daughter was on TV. Sherlock nodded. "I need to see her." Peter demanded.

"I'm sorry, but you will only bring back bad memories." Sherlock said. Peter looked down at the ground.

"I know I did some terrible things to her. But when her mother went missing, I turned to alcohol and drugs instead of Beth. And Beth had to face the consequences of my actions. I regret hurting her, I really do. Just please let me see her!" Peter began to cry.

"Wait. Alcohol and drugs? You hurt her?!" Sherlock realised that Beth lied. Peter didn't just leave her.

"Yes," Peter wiped his eyes. "I was drunk. I beat her to take out my anger. Then she ran away to a Child's home, I pressume. I just want to make things better." Peter begged. Sherlock filled with rage.

"She said after her mum disappeared, you left her at a park near a child's home." Sherlock wanted to punch Peter.

"That didn't happen. She left me." Peter said.
