"She left you?" Sherlock was shoked by Peter's words. Peter just nodded.

"She ran away because I abused her. I guess she went to a children's home," Peter began to tear up again. "Because I never heard from her again. She didn't go to a relavtive's or a friend's. They would have called me." Sherlock found himself storming out of the room and hailing a cab.

He couldn't believe that Beth had lied to him. Couples don't lie. Do they? Sherlock was never in a real relationship, so he didn't know. He wondered if Beth had lied to him any other times. He wondered if the whole relationship was based off of one big lie. Maybe she did have a job. Maybe she knew Sherlock and was just a major fan. Sherlock's head was buzzing with thoughts. But he came back down to Earth when he arrived at Baker Street. He gave the man some cash and stormed into the flat. He was greeted by seeing Bethany on the couch, reading a book. She looked up with a surpriesed look on her face.

"Sher-" she started. Sherlock cut her off.

"Why did you lie to me?" Sherlock was furious. Beth just looked at him, puzzled.

"What?" she half laughed. Sherlock intensified his death glare at her. She shifted uncomfortably. "When did I lie to you, Sherlock?" her voice was shaking.

"You lied about your dad leaving you. You left him. Why did you lie about that?" Sherlock began to calm down. "Why didn't you tell me you were abused?" Sherlock looked hurt now, no longer angry. Bethany had calmed down, too. She was less frightened.

"How..." she started to tear up. "how did you find out?" her voice was shaking. Sherlock didn't want to tell her. But he had to.

"The case," Sherlock hesitated. "It's... your..." Sherlock couldn't tell Beth that her mother was murdered.

"Sherlock. Tell me." Bethany was trying to keep in the tears. Sherlock let out a deep sigh.

"Your mother was murdered, Bethany." Sherlock blurted out. Bethany raised her hands to cover her mouth, and broke down. She was hysterical. Sherlock sat down next to her. He patted her back, but she pulled away.

"And you weren't going to tell me?! Is that why you didn't want me on the case?!?!" Bethany sounded more angry than upset. Sherlock slowly nodded. Bethany wiped her eyes and groaned in frustration. She then stormed into their room. Sherlock gave her a moment to calm down, but when he started hearing drawers being pulled open, he paniced and went to the room. He was heartbroken when he saw what Bethany was doing.

"Bethany..." Sherlock's voice was low. "Why...." he couldn't handle this. He walked out of the room, out of Baker Street, and went into a cab. He then sped away.

Bethany pulled her belongings out of the drawers. She threw them into the green suitcase. She was furious. Was he really not going to tell her that her own mother was murdered? How did Sherlock find out about the abuse? And the truth? Was her father at the crime scene? Bethany couldn't take in all of this. She needed to rest, away from all of this chaos. She packed up all of her things and wrote a not for Sherlock.

'Dear Sherlock,

I think I need a break. I will be gone traveling for a bit. I might go to America, or France, or Japan. Anywhere but here, really. I can't take in all of this. I need a few weeks off. It has nothing to do with you. I just need some rest. Call me, if you miss me.

Bethany Greene.'

Beth placed the note on the counter. She then hauled her bags outside and walked to a cab. Beth decided to go to America, then Paris. Maybe go to Greece or somewhere like that. She pulled out her phone and got some plane tickets. She also rented hotel rooms.

Her plan was, America, mainly New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and New Hampshire. Then go to Paris. She would be gone for three months, but that seemed like a good amount of time. Bethany felt bad for leaving Sherlock. But he wouldn't have told her if her own mother was murdered. What other secrets was hiding.
