"Ash-ley, I've-got-a date," I wheezed, out of breath from running, halfway across the school to Parker's locker. Her locker was across the hall from mine, so I knew she was with Parker. Ashley expression went from flirty to shocked.
"Shut. Up. With who?" She demanded.
"See that's the thing. I can't tell you," I proposed.
"Hold on Park," Ashley put her hand up and walked over to me.
"Who. Is. It?" She looked frustrated.
"It's Colby," I blurted, and scrunched my face as if she was going to punch me.
"OMG! Iris! I'm so happy for you!" She pulled me into a hug.
"You don't care that it's you're brother?" I asked, obviously shocked.
"No no no, c'mon, let's go," she said offering me her hand. She started singing, and telling me, I can't believe this, and, I'm so happy for you! And I'd say, 'Me too but not to this extreme point,' ya, I was excited.
"Ash, what should I wear?" I asked, stopping in my tracks.
"We'll, you have to look presentable, but still casual, flirty, and chill, so, I'll come over at six to help, what time is Colby coming?" She was way more excited about this then I was.
"Six thirty, maybe come at five thirty and we can order pizza," I offered.
"Fantabulous! See you then," she waved her fingers and went to her last class. I had gym so I ran there. Pulled on my gym uniform, and was ninth in line for track and field. I ran with the most athletic girl in the class, Jenna Finch. It was only 100m sprint, but I still had no chance of winning. "3,2,1, sprint!" My gym teacher Ms. Nelson screeched and we were off. I was only inches behind her, when I really started to sprint, I was ahead of her, and I crossed the line in 12.66 seconds, where she got 13.78. I was pretty happy, and so were my classmates. All except Jenna.
"Wow, today is my lucky day," I exclaimed, extremely out of breath. First, a date with Colby, then I become the most athletic girl in the class.
"Cheer up pinched faced finch, it's for the best. You had you're time," one of the boys, Randy, shouted. Then they started chanting; "Iris! Iris! Iris!" And I bowed, was carried to the change room on two shoulders. I changed, and the final bell rang, signalling for school to end. I called Ashley. "Hey Ash! I just had the best gym class ever,"
"Do tell, my friend, do tell," she said.
"So, we ran 100m, and I was against Finch, and I beat her, and then they started chanting my name, I got carried to the change room, and I got a paparazzi attack,"
"Well, I wish I was there, because, I would have been leading your fandom," she said.
"Aww, thanks. See you at 5," I said.
"You're always early Ash"
