-December 19th, (the dance)-

People were starting to notice me and Colby hanging out at school, and we're getting suspicious. They would whisper as we'd walk past them in halls. They'd say, 'are they dating?' It always irked Colby. He'd raise his fist up and they'd put their hands up in defence. Every single time. I didn't care. I loved that colby was being protective of me. I thought it was special. Like he cared about me. In an hour, it was time for the dance. Ashley was coming over to help with hair and makeup, and Colby and Jack were picking us up at seven fifteen. I was ready for the dance. What's the worst that could happen? I get pregnant? If I did, I'd have to spend the rest of my life with Colby. I mean, that wouldn't be so bad right? I'd drop out of high school, raise my child, with Colby's help, he'd get a job, I would to, once the kid was three, and go to college. Simple plan. Speaking of simple plan...

"My heart is sinking, as I'm lifting, up above the clouds away from you," Ashley and I sang as we finished our hair. Ashley's, was a tight bun, made entirely out of curls, and mine, was a tightly curled side ponytail with loose strands of hair, curled into ringlets on either side. Our outfits were completed with black pumps for me, and black heeled gladiator sandals for Ashley. We looked perfect.

"But some-day, I will find my way back to where your-name, is written in the sand," we sang as the doorbell rang. My mom answered it, video camera in hand.

"Hi boys, do come in," she said in a sing song voice.

"Hi, uh, we're, uh, here, to pick up, uh, our dates, Ashley and Iris and uh, it appears they're not uh, ready," Jack stuttered.

"Hold that thought," Ashely said as we walked down the stairs, greeting the boys with lip lock.

"Mom, you didn't get that on camera did you?" I asked, embarrassed.

"Every minute of it, hold on, get in close everybody," she tapped the camera and grabbed my phone for a picture.

"One. Two. Three. Smile!" She said.

"See you later ms. J," Colby said. She waved and shut the door.

"Um, Jack, you drive, Ash, you sit passenger, Colby and I will take the backseat. Is that ok?" I asked the group. They nodded, and Colby stopped me from getting in the car.

"I get to share the backseat with you," he whispered in my ear.

"Babe, I did that on purpose," I teased, putting my thumb on his lips.

"Let's go, before they get suspicious," Colby joked, opening the car door for me as I blushed.

"On the way back, we are going to make a pit stop, at Colby's and Ashley's place, where the ladies will blindly be escorted inside for a surprise from the boys. Alright, hop out, we're here," Jack said, stopping the car.

"Ooh, what's gonna happen?" I kissed Colby as we walked into the gym. The gym was decorated beautifully, white drapes hanging, snowflakes, hanging from the ceiling, fake snow, light blue table cloths. It couldn't have been more perfect.

"Ash, there's Parker, and he's alone?" I asked.

"He's the MC, that's all. Not here to party," she said.

"K, Colby, wanna dance?" I asked, reaching for his hand.

"Oh yeah, my beautiful date," he pulled me in for a kiss as I dragged him to the dance floor. It was a slow song.

"I'm gonna warn you, I'm a terrible dancer," he said. He was amazing.

"Lies," I teased.

"This, is perfect," he said, holding me close.
