My Life in High School...

Military Ball part 1

The next week at school ROTC was discussing the Military Ball which is a "prom" for ROTC kids. And you could bring a date. We'll see before Ricardo and I had got together I had asked Jojo to the ball and he said he would go. So I paid for two tickets. Well after I payed he decided to tell me he couldn't go. I know I know why not ask Ricardo he is my boyfriend after all. We'll see we were still trying to keep it hidden until he felt comfortable enough to tell others. So I was panicking I already payed what was I supposed to do now I have to find a date. Well then I remembered I had actually been asked by someone.... who I safely turned down. I felt bad but I was with someone and I couldn't tell him. The one who asked me was Bradley. And when I found out Jojo couldn't go I obviously went and asked him to go with me. And he said that he would. Well once again last minute I was informed Bradley couldn't go either. So I talked to my sergeant and said fine I'll ask Ricardo. "Ricardo? Ricardo Felix? Charlie Company Commander?" He asked. "Yes," I said.  "Well then ok let me know what he says." Well then that day after school Ricardo and I went to Harvey Park which was not far from the school. And there we sat on a park bench and talked. He asked me a question that I had never been asked by anyone before. "Why do you like me?" Well I became flustered... why did I like Ricardo ? Well he's patient, kind, tall, he's there for me when I need him, he's a great person to talk to, and so on. And that exactly what I told him. I asked him, "Why do you like me?" And god you know what his answer was!?! It was I don't know!!!! Like wow thank you. Anyway whatever I still loved him. After that he smilies at me and was all "Soo sergeant told me you were going to ask me to the military ball." Great he already knew. I was dreading asking because Ricardo hates crowds and not only that he still wanted us to be a secret. But I asked him anyway. And he said no. And I asked again. Still a no. We did that back and forth until finally he grabbed my hand and said Yes. I was so excited!!! I was going with my boyfriend to the Military Ball!!
