Chapter 5: if it means a lot to you

TOBIAS

I wake up and my first thought is tris it feels like she rejected me but then gives me a kiss on the cheek before she leaves I'm confused. Maybe she did it out of pity or she changed her mind. It happened a couple of day ago she hasn't really talked to me a lot, but I got concert tickets for me and her to see of mice and men and bring me the horizon hopefully she says yes.

"Tobias mom said breakfast is ready" Anna calls from the other side of the door. I take a shower and put on red v-neck shirt dark jeans and black vans. I go down stairs and I see my mom made pancakes. I sit down and we just talk about how her trip was. I've been living with my mom since I was 16 that's when I got a restraining order for Marcus for non- verbal abuse it never got proven that it was physical for some reason.

"Oh um can I go to a concert on Saturday?" I ask

"With who?"

"Tris..."

"Hmm a girl...isn't that the girl you said that you hated two weeks ago?"

"Yeah..." I say giving her an innocent smile

"I will never get teenagers and yes you can go"

"Thanks" I say I give her a kiss on the cheek grab my bag, jacket and keys and head to school. I get to school and see Tris and Christina talking intensely, I wanna go over there and ask her about Saturday but I'm too nervous. I've never been nervous with girls but she's different she make me scared and excited all at the same time with her amazing smile and her eyes that demand attention. My thoughts are interrupted by thought by Zeke yelling my name

"Huh? What?"

"I was asking you if wanted to come to my house on Saturday?"

"Oh I can't I have plans" I say hoping he doesn't ask who with, Uriah and Zeke both know I liked..or like or what ever Tris and I really don't want to hear about.

"With...?"

"Tris" I mumble under my breath

"I'm sorry I didn't hear that" he says with a smirk

"Tris!" I yell louder than I meant I hear the hall go silent and people staring at me and I see Tris looking at quizzically. Then the only thing that fills the halls is Zekes laughter I grab arm and and push to turn the corner of the hall.

"So she said yes?"

"I didn't ask yet"

"Well do it soon with you yelling her name she might be getting suspicious" he says and we walk to class

TRIS

I sit at lunch playing with my corn with my fork pondering, mostly about four while Christina talks about Will and her double date with Uriah and Marlene and what every typical teenager talks about. I wouldn't really know what the typical teenager thinks I never been considered one yeah I guess for drinking here and there and parties, but most of my mind is focused on school not boys accept till now why me?.

Then I see Uriah Zeke come sit at our table which I'm guessing is for Marlene and Shauna. Will has pretty much always sat at the table we became friends in freshman year and always knew he liked Christina and vice versa they just never admitted to each other till now. Four sits across from me we take glances at each other. I would say that things between us are perfectly normal but that would be a lie. I even told the others about it and they just think tell him that I like him but I wanted better advice then that.

"So are you going to bobs today?" He says and I see him pleading to have a conversation right now with those eyes I could just drown in

"Um yeah, you?"
