If anything in this book has taught you anything, let it be to enjoy your happy times. Because you never know when it may stop for everyone.

Vanessa and Devan were stumbling through the furious snow Christmas Eve. They were doing some late night Christmas Santa shopping, and they regretted it. Vanessa was shivering from the cold, and Devan held onto her to keep her from stumbling in the snow. They also were holding onto a red velvet bag of presents. They got it as a Christmas discount from the man at J.C. Penney's, so they weren't too upset about it. Besides, it really gave the feeling of Santa holding the gifts. And they got a free snowglobe out of it, one with a house that looked like Vanessa's house. And Devan knew whatever made Vanessa happy made him happy.

They continued to dredge through the snow, eventually getting to Vanessa's car and getting in. Devan hopped in the passenger seat and put the bag in the back. It was so nice. They had everything ready for a perfect Christmas.

"What is that?" Vanessa pointed what looked like a man walking through the snow. Except, Devan rubbed his eyes to confirm this, he had goat horns.

"I don't know...maybe it's just one of those new art statues around town." Vanessa shook her head as she saw it move. And it moved towards them.

"Devan, it's alive!" The last thing they remember as the figure inched toward them was the feeling of ominous dread overwhelming them.

Vanessa woke up to see the snow now delicately falling outside. She was inside her house now, so it must have just been a dream. She was wearing her pajamas, and there was no Santa bag in sight. So maybe it was a dream.

She went to her living room to find no one in the house. Which was odd. She stopped when she saw Devan asleep on the floor.

"Devan-wake up!" She shook him awake, and his eyes shot open.

"Vanessa wha-where-what happened?!?" She held his hand tightly as she looked at him.

"It was a dream, we're safe. It's Christmas." She smiled, but it quickly dawned on her.

They couldn't have had the same dream. She pulled Devan up and they opened the front door. What they saw terrified them. They didn't see the end of the street. Or Alamosa, at all. They just saw white. Devan started running out to the end of the sidewalk, only to run into what seemed like glass, like bombarding into a window. Only it didn't break. Vanessa held onto herself in fear. Devan ran back to her and held her tightly.

Everything was real...the Santa bag. The snowglobe. The goat man. It was all real.

Now...where they....inside the snow globe?
