there are a lot of things that i want to say as the writer of this story, so let me start by reminding you of the things that i've said in the past:
1. obviously, a huge part of this story is its usage of languages other than english. (n. since initial publication, i've had a lot of amazing people offer to help me correct the grammar and spelling and vocabulary in places where google translate failed me. in this rewrite, i've corrected those, though i find it inevitable that there will be new mistakes. please, feel free to correct those as you would have before.)
2. re, above: please, do not hesitate to correct me. i won't take it personally.
now, let me continue by things that i should have said in the past, but failed to do so.
1. the initial publishing of this book definitely romanticized a toxic relationship. it wasn't cute. if you thought it was, i recommend that you take yourself away from this piece and question whether or not you would be okay with this happening to you in real life. you shouldn't be. if you are, i think that is a conversation that you need to have with yourself, and i encourage you to do so.
2. with that in mind, i've rewritten this novel. i'm trying to create a relationship that has the same dynamic without subconsciously idolizing the toxicity that was very tangible between these two characters. i am trying to better myself and my writing, and i encourage you to try to better yourself and your reading.
3. fanfiction seems to be a place where people seem to perpetuate internalized misogyny and, otherwise, anti-feminist behavior. hating on women is much easier, i think, for people than hating on "harry styles." which, i encourage you to remember, this is not real. this is fiction. though, i digress. please, think about the information that you are consuming and question whether it is something that you find acceptable.
4. in a separate thought, initially, i left cassidy as a very ambiguous character. still, i plan to do so. imagine her in whatever way you would like. i don't care, truly. if ever there is a picture, pay no mind to the model but instead the pose or the outfit.
5. i will be re-uploading this chapter by chapter. i'll be doing it as fast as i can but, folks, i got shits do to do.
6. any and all comments comparing my story to other fanfictions, television shows, and/or movies will be deleted as soon as they are seen. this is exceptionally invalidating to me and, not to mention, just plain rude.
finally, let me share my thanks. this story is truly one that i am so in love with and lucky to have put out. i really adore you all, and can't wait for you to engage with this story yet again. i hope you enjoy.
