18 Weeks

The End?/Chapter 12

I left my parent's house with Leticia. In the back of my head I was thinking I need to call Jason and let him know where I'm going. I called him letting him know that I was staying with my sister Leticia that I would be safe with her. He just warned me and told me to be careful and to text him whenever I can. We arrived at their house and Leticia said that I could sleep on the couch since her and her boyfriend sleep in their room.

She had went to sleep right away cause she worked as a stripper and had to get up in the morning to dance. The next day Leticia had told me some bad news that her boyfriend's uncle had complained about me sleeping on the couch so she decided to book me a cheap hotel and have me stay there until she can find a place for me to stay. I was pretty upset that I had to go and stay in a hotel. I had some money that was saved up to pay my phone bill but Leticia needed 75 to pay for the hotel that I was staying in so that left me no money to pay my phone bill and I was starting to worry. Leticia told me not to worry about it and that she would pay me back for the phone bill. In a couple of days the teacher decided to take me out of the hotel and take me to work with her. She worked at a place called Rick's cabaret. It was basically a topless strip club/bar. I sat at the bar while Leticia danced. While I was sitting there watching her dance I was thinking about how interesting it was but then again I wouldn't want to show off my body to disgusting men. She had just made it look very interesting. It started to get real late Letitia said that she had to go she said that I couldn't come with her and she had scheduled for me to go home with someone. At first I can't believe that she was abandoning me here and having me go with someone I completely did not know. The woman I was supposed to go home with was a woman named Shannon, or Shay for short. Shay had calmed my nerves and after meeting her she seem like a really cool person and I was excited to go home with her. She told me she had a husband name Xavion  and that he comes home real early in the morning and I wouldn't be able to meet him until tomorrow afternoon. The night got real late and she took me home after her shift ended at 2 a.m. In the morning. She knew I was exhausted and tired and stressed out after having Leticia abandoned me at the strip club so she took me out to get me some Jack in the Box and handed me a cigarette. That's when I started smoking. The next afternoon I was able to meet Xavion. He seemed pretty chill but really quiet and he didn't talk very much. Shay told me to make myself at home and just to calm down for a couple of days and then she will help me find a job. Around the 9th of July I saw a large black truck pull up into her yard and notified Shay that we had a visitor. She said it's okay that's only Matthew. The door opened and Matthew walked in. He looked in my direction and smiled and I bashfully smiled back. He was a bit on the large side had short brown hair but noticed that he had a very amazing smile so I got up from the couch and greeted him with a handshake. I had an instant crush on him. I was a bit embarrassed though because I already was dating Jason and already crushing someone else. I did not know Matthew very much but he wanted to stay and he really wanted to get to know me. Luckily the opportunity came when Matthew went to go get drinks for Shay and I and asked Shay if he had a girlfriend. She told me not that she knows of and she asked why and I shyly  replied that I like him and I wanted to get to know him better. Matthew had stayed at the house for about a week and during that week Matthew and I were inseparable we watched shows and hung out together. He even told me that he was interested in me and I shared my interest back the only problem was that I need to get rid of Jason. So I decided to make a big decision and cut ties with Jason and take a chance with Matthew. The weeks following were amazing Shay had also help me get a job at Rick's cabaret where I worked as a waitress instead of a stripper. I didn't feel like showing off my body was right now that I had Matthew as my boyfriend and he treated me with such respect that I felt like I didn't need to disrespect my body like that. But behind all the happiness and excitement there was a dark secret. Every Saturday and Monday when I had off work I would secretly get sexually abused by Shays husband Xavion. I had to keep the secrets as he mentioned that he was on parole and that he had the ability to kill me and no one could be able to find my body so in fear of my life I kept it a secret from everybody. Around the same time I was being abused I was also being sexually active with Matthew. I was a little upset that he didn't know my secret but if I told him I knew what kind of person he was and I knew he would take action to fix the problem and I didn't want any drama. So I decided to keep it a secret in fear of Matthew's life. I knew that if the secret word to leak out that Xavion would try to hurt or even try to kill Matthew and I and I did not want that. Around September the 16th I had noticed that my period was really late. At first Shay did not believe me and then about another week later she had decided to go ahead and give me a pregnancy test. On the way to work Shay announced the news that I was in fact pregnant. I started crying and freaking out because I had no idea what to do. I had told her that it was Matthew because Matthew and I had been having sex and of course she had figured that out already. She mentioned an abortion and I started crying harder and then she decided to call Matthew and give him the news. He did not seem angry at all but he requested that Shay and I come by his grandpa's house before work. And we arrived at Matthew's grandpa's house Matthew was sitting outside in the driveway waiting. He came over to the passenger side and had me roll down my window. I put my head down because I was very embarrassed and I didn't want to see his face. He told me to get out of the car and so I did and he pulled me in and gave me a hug. I had asked them so you're not mad and he replied back with no of course not. He told me he had already told all of his family and his mom that I was pregnant and also mentioned that if I were to get an abortion that they would practically disown him and that he would not be allowed back into the family. I was pretty astonished by the fact that they were highly against abortion at the same time I was glad because I had already had one mishap and I didn't want to have to get rid of a pregnancy I intended to keep. So after I had talked to Matthew, Shay and I had to go to work. While on the drive to work she mentioned that she still wanted us to get an abortion but that was ultimately up to us to make that decision. She also mentioned that Xavion was really upset at the situation and that I would have to stay with Matthew. The only problem was that Matthew had to go back to court for a theft auto charge he was being charged with back in April. He didn't know how many months he would be in prison for and that he would have to schedule for me to stay at one of his relatives house. I was okay with that and so after work he was waiting in the parking lot for me to get off of work. Matthew had taken me to McDonalds to get me something to eat and then we headed back to his grandpa's house. I was unusually quiet because I was also worried about the unborn child and I knew I needed to make an immediate appointment to see an OB/GYN. As I lay in the dark I cuddled with Matthew and as I drifted off to sleep I wondered what would happen with me and the unborn child, and what exciting events were to be upon us.
