Chapter 10: The Offer Of A Lifetime

After Alice went back downstairs, everyone was told to pack.

Lina had asked why and was replyed with a short, "He broke the contract."

Of course, she had looked confused.

"There was a contract that MyKayla and Cade each signed before auditions saying they HAD to date a band member and not cheat on them or their band wouldn't get in, even if they had the highest number of votes."

"Oh."

He nodded. "Yeah."

But as Alice was packing, she got a text from Dean saying, "Come to the auditorium, big news."

And so she went to the auditorium.

Once there, she noticed Max, Viv, Dean, and Alex sitting in chairs while a man in a nice suit stood onstage.

"Good, you're here. Please take a seat so we can get started."

So she sat next to Max.

"As you all know, two of you band mates broke their contracts this morning. And we were suprised when it happened but," He said. "We have come up with an idea. A very nice one that you will take us up on. It is that you four," He pointed at Alice, Max, Viv, and Dean. "Will start your own band and continue through the Band Wars, no strings attatched. No dating contracts, no nothing."

Alice looked at Max. "Should we?"

"Yeah. Okay, sir, we'll do it."

"Why should we do that?" Viv asked.

"It's the offer of a lifetime."

After thoroughly helping Lina pack up, everyone was saying their goodbyes.

But Cade just had to pull Alice aside.

"Look, Alice, I'm sorry and I didn't me-"

"YOU DIDN' MEAN TO DO IT? WHAT'D YOU MEAN YOU DIDN'T MEAN TO DO IT? OF COURSE YOU MEANT TO DO IT! YOU ONLY DATED ME SO WE COULD GET IN."

"NO I DIDN'T!"

"YES YOU DID."

Cade went to say something else, but was cut off by Alice.

"It's time for you to leave. And if you think for. one. second. that I will still be your 'best friend' after this, then you're wrong. Goodbye, Cade."

And she sassily walked away.

Alice cried into her pillow after that and when Max came to get her for dinner, he didn't expect to see Alice throwing things around her room either.

"Alice. Alice, honey, calm down."

"Calm down? You want me to calm. down?"

"Yes," He said. "Plz don't go Hulk on me!"

She sighed and ran a hand through her multi-colored hair. "Sorry."

"S'okay. Wanna talk about it?"

"No."

"Wanna go eat?"

"No."

"Wanna hug?"

"You know what, yes. I would like a hug."

Max smiled at her and wrapped his arms around her.

"He didn't deserve you."

"That's what everyone says when someone breaks up."

"But I'm the only one who means it."

"Oh, really," She looked up at him. "And why's that?"

He smirked. "Cos I'm you're best fwiend."

She laughed.

"Of course you are."

"Can we go eat now?"
