Nothing ever stays the same

Adam and I had a really good time at the new café. And boy, I did not exaggerate when describing their cupcakes. It was the best thing I've ever eaten. So good that I actually bought one more.. But let's not focus on that shall we. Me and Adam really got to know each other so much better and we got closer. He's got one little sister, Clara. She's 9 and, from what he told me, very kind. He also told me that he's really into music and that's what he does in his spare time. He plays the guitar and I told him that he has to play for me some time. We talked about everything, we probably spent like 4 hours together, after the cupcakes we went for a long walk.

As I came inside my family had already started eating so I joined them. My mum had made a delicious soup with some garlic bread. She knows how much all of us love garlic bread. So I grabbed four pieces before they could eat them all.

"How was Sarah, honey?" mum asked me as she served me some soup.

"She's good, but I wasn't hanging out with her after school. She had plans with William."

"Oh, who's William?"

"A jerk." Lucas mumbled. Mum looked questioning at him and then turned to me again.

"Her new boyfriend." I answered.

"I'm happy for her. So who were you out with?"

"Adam." I said and took my first bite of the bread. I almost moaned as I felt the taste. So good! But I didn't though, would've been even more awkward after I just talked about Adam. 

"Really?" Lucas looked at me.

"Adam who stayed here? Lukes friend?" Mum asked.

"Yeah?" I answered, mum opened her mouth to say something but Miranda beat her to it.

"Oh, Fells got a boyfriend!" Miranda cheered. And we all just rolled our eyes at her, really.

"He's nice. But if he tries anything, tell me." Lucas said to me.

"Yeah, thanks. And we are just friends, he knows that too."

After that Miranda told us about her day, how some girl had been rude to her because they both had the same shirt on. We all payed more attention than you could think we would.

As we finished eating my phone signaled that I had received a text. And then another one, and another. Who's so desperate to talk to me?

"Fells, your boyfriend seems eager." Miranda winked at me. I just rolled my eyes at her and put my dishes in the dishwasher and walked up to my room. As I closed the door I picked up my phone. Two of the texts were from Adam and the third was from Sarah.
