To find a seat in the school cafeteria can be hard, even harder when you don't have anyone to sit with. Not all people will accept you. On Wednesdays my one and only friend Sarah and I have lunch at different times. Which can be really hard some times. I can sometimes find a completely empty table, but mostly I'm not that lucky. So I have to walk around, find one that I think that I can sit by, only to have them reject me. But now, I guess I'm kind of used to it anyway.
Today, is one of those days. A Wednesday.
I'm one of those typical outsider girls you can see in movies. It's such a cliché and you think they only appear in just that, movies. No, actually that's me and my life.
Me and Sarah are each others opposites on the outside. She has her beautiful, dreamy beach blonde waves, I got brown completely straight hair. She has gorgeous brown eyes, I've got green ones. She's fit, I'm not. I wouldn't say that I'm fat or something, I'm just not exercising, you know what I mean. Like pizza's life, exercising is not. But somehow we fit so well together, because our personalities are so alike. We like pretty much the same things, and have the same opinions on most.
However, I just realized I haven't even told you my name yet. I'm Felicia, I'm 18 years old. I have a brother who's 21 and a sister who's 14. We have quite a good relationship actually. Since I have one friend, they are the ones I hang out with if Sarah's not available.
"Find another seat. This one's taken." A girl says as I put my tray down on the table beside her. I don't answer her, I just pick it back up and continue my search for the acceptable place for Felicia Walker to sit. My mother always told me when I would have a hard time that I shouldn't pay attention to those who were rude, I should always keep my nose up and know that I am the bigger person. Pretty weird actually, but it has helped me through several of incidents like these.
Sometimes, like today, I really can't find a seat so I just grab the things on my tray and walk out of the cafeteria. I found an empty bench outside where I could finally calm my starving stomach.
"Felicia?" I heard Miranda, my sister say.
"Hi Randy" that's what I usually call her.
"Why are you sitting out here?"
"Couldn't find a seat so I thought why not just sit here. Why are you here?"
Miranda is in high school so why is she here? Outside of the college buildings?
"You know, you should just sit down somewhere, so what if they don't like it. We're going out for lunch."
"Is that my skirt?" I ask her as I look down at the black skirt she is wearing.
"Um, yeah..."
"What happened to asking me first?!"
"Sorry! I'll see you at home princess!" she said nervously as she ran to her friends who had started walking to the restaurant in the building next to the school.
I decided to text Sarah as I finished my muffin.
"I hate Wednesdays!"
Within seconds I got a reply;
"I know, me too! See u later?"
"At ur house?"
She just replied with a thumbs up and a kissy face emoji.

I knocked at Sarahs door and then opened it myself. I know I don't even have to knock, but I'm such a polite person, or something like that. As I entered the kitchen I saw Sarahs mother.
"Hey Felicia! How was school?"
"Hi, Alice. It was good, thank you? How was work?"
"It was great. I'm making some dinner, but it's not done yet. Sarah's upstairs."
"Oh okay, thanks." I said and headed for the stairs. All the bedrooms were upstairs. Sarahs door was closed so I decided to knock.
"Come in!" I heard her say from the other side.
"Hi!" I squealed as I entered the room. Sarah was sitting at her desk doing homework or something.
"Hey girl! I gotta tell you something." she clapped her hands and turned her chair towards the bed where I sat down.
"What is it?"
"At lunch today, I was sitting alone. You know, as usual on Wednesdays. And then a boy came and asked if he could sit with me! He was so cute!"
"Wow really? Was he new or just decided not to be part of the 'jerk gang' anymore?"
The 'jerk gang' is pretty much what we call the rest of the school.
"No he started last year actually. His name's William."
"Oh okay. Well, what does he look like? Is he hot?" I smirked at her.
"Ohh yes! You should've seen him. He has a bit curly hair, brunette. His eyes are brown as well. He wore a T-shirt which gave me access to see his arms and damn, he must be working out a lot."
"Hey hey hey! Stop or you'll be drooling all over this place!" I laughed at her, but still feeling so happy for her, that she found someone. Even if nothing comes out of it, I'm still happy for her right now.
She stuck out her tongue and turned on the TV and we continued the evening chatting, watching TV and eating dinner with her family. Sarahs family, The Collins, is quite big. She has four siblings. 3 brothers and 1 sister. Liam, 24. Joshua, 21. Tristan, 19. Maya, 16. And Sarah is the same age as me if that wasn't clear. I have bonded quite well with all of them actually, including her parents Alice and Thomas.
I went home around 8. Lucas, my brother came and picked me up. He's in the same grade as Joshua so he spent some time there talking with him about some game as well. They play football, they are two of the biggest jocks at our school. Probably the two of the nicest jocks at our school as well.
"So, how's Sarah?" he asked as we pulled out of their driveway.
"Why?"
"Hahah, what do you mean 'why'? I just wanted to be nice and see how things are with her"
"She's good. Leave her alone, Lucas!" I glared at him. He laughed a little.
"Okay, okay, I will. I have other options anyway." He smirked and winked at me.
"Ew, I don't want to hear about your girls!" I swatted at his arm which just made him laugh at me again.
"I like it how you said it in plural" he winked at me. "I'm kidding. Okay then. Let's talk about you. Have any boyfriiieend?" he teased.
"Oh, shut up already. But fyi, no.."
"I was just kidding, Fellz. It will come when it does, nothing to push."
"Yeah I know. Thanks."
I went straight to the bathroom to get ready for bed as I got home. I brushed my teeth, my hair and did my facial routine. Then I went into my bedroom and put on some video on Youtube until I fell asleep. This had been a long day, not really actually. But it felt like it and all I could think about was how I didn't have to go alone to the cafeteria the next day.
