Ma : How's Ray holding up ?

Zonnique : Not too good . In fact , he's taken his anger out on me

Ma: Well that's not good. You tried comforting him ?

Zonnique : Yeah . But you know .. We started talking about other things .

Ma : Things like what ?

Zonnique : Zoey and I

Ma : What about you and Zoey ? I thought y'all broke up

Zonnique : We're on and off ma. That's what couples do . We break up and then we make up

Ma : How did Ray take that ? *chuckling*

Zonnique : He didn't take it so well .

Ma : I don't blame him

Zonnique : Oh so you're taking his side ?

Ma : Honey .. Don't you think it's time for you and Zoey to take a break .. For good ?

Zonnique : Why ?

Ma : I honestly think you should take a break from boys period in this case . It's doing nothing but bringing you down

Zonnique : *Sighs* Whether you , Ray , or anybody else like it or not .. I'm staying with Zoey .

Ma : Well you can kiss Zoey goodbye all I care because you're moving with your father for the summer

Zonnique : What ?!

Ma : You heard me . Me and your father already made the arrangements . I told him you'll be packed and ready by next week .

Zonnique : What about Ray ? He's still my best friend . You're going to keep me away from my best friend this whole summer ?!

Ma : You'll still see him . He'll visit you and you'll visit him . As for Zoey , that's over with.

Zonnique : You must've lost your mind ! Y'all really tryna take me away from my boyfriend ?!

Ma : Naw you then lost your mind ! I don't know who the hell you think you're yelling at missy . That boy ain't nothing but trouble ! He was before and he still is and I don't want you with him any longer . Besides , I said it's just for the summer .

Zonnique : I don't care !

She slaps me across my face , causing me to run upstairs to my room. I don't know why everyone is hating on me and Zoey's relationship all of the sudden . They're all Zoey this and Zoey that bullshit but they don't know nothing about him.

Ma : *knocking* Nique baby can we talk ? I didn't mean to hit you . I'm sorry

Zonnique : Go away

Ma : We have to talk this out . I understand you're mad and you feel like we're trying to take you away from Zoey but -

Zonnique : Just leave me alone !

I say placing the pillow over my face and screaming Into it . I fucking hate it here. All she do is work and when she's off she's out with friends , now all of the sudden she wanna act like she cares about me. Zoey is the only piece of happiness I have here and she's trying to snatch that away. Everything I planned for this summer is going down the drain .

Ma : I just want you to know that I love you and I'm truly sorry . But I only do what I do for you and because I only want the best for you . I don't understand the big deal anyway . It's just for the summer baby . You'll be back

Zonnique : Blah blah blah ! I don't care

I say as I pick up my phone and dial Zoey's number. I call twice but get no answer . Maybe his phone is dead . I guess I'll just go to sleep early then .
