Gemstone of F4(Meteor Garden)- On Hold

Ah Si's birthday*

A few days later I sat in my closet drinking tea and enjoying my quiet time trying to find which dress would look good for today's big event. Daoming Si's birthday I had mixed feelings with this day every year, I only put up with it because of Ah Si. I chose my new dress I had made months ago and put away for a special event.  What better way to show off.

It was deep blue; blue was my favorite color, so I wore it a lot. The skirt was knee length and made it look like the back was flowing. 

I smiled at my work and sat down at my mirror, fixing my hair. Walking out of the bedroom, I looked around the empty house. Lei had something to do so I was alone, it was kinda quiet but I enjoyed it. After putting on my heels and jacket, I walked out the front door and got into my car.

Arriving at Daoming Mansion, I parked the car and got out smoothing myself and fixing a few out of place hairs looking around.  Eyes followed me. While others gave me a simple overlook, many of the Daoming workers nodded to me respectfully.  Walking through the door, I found Lei, Ximen and Meizuo were already there. Lei's head turned and I saw his eyes just stare at me. 

"Beautiful." He murmured coming to my side and kissed my cheek, I grinned at him lightly. Wrapping my arm around his, he lead me over to the side with the boys. We stood together watching people getting the place ready and just staying out of the way. 

I looked over hearing footsteps, and saw Shancai come in. I scanned her white dress, she was fancy as she could, I gave her effort for trying. 

"Sorry to keep you waiting"

"It's fine. We also just arrived" Lei told her reassuring.

"Why are you so formally dressed?"

"Shancai we're not formally dressed." Meizuo told her sighing, looking her over.  "You're the one that is too under dressed."

"This is my nicest dress" Shancai told him. 

I walked forward turning her around she stared at me excitedly.

"Don't listen to Zuo his head is filled with earwax". I told her smiling. 

"Hey!"

"It doesn't matter I can fix this." I said gesturing to the dress. "All I need is five minutes and a trip to Zhuang's room." 

"Let's go." Ximen said making me nod.

Lei grabbed my hand to pull me with them walking out.

"Wait."  Shancai said making us stop and turn to her. "Tell me. Why should I wear something nice, is there any special meaning to this birthday party?" 

"Si's birthday party is a very important occasion in the Daoming family" Lei explained.

"How important is it?"

 "Politicians and people of stature will try to get along and benefit from the Daoming group." Ximen said sighing looking at us and then back to her.

"Actually the focus of Si's birthday party is not about Si himself but his mom, who's the real power behind the Daoming group" I added with a little anger thrown in my voice. 

Lei squeezed my hand calmly.

"Daoming Si's mom, But what does that have to do whether I dress formally or not?"

"Si's mom is a very scary woman" Meizuo said swooping in  grabbing her shoulder.

" "She's hard to deal with, especially in scrutinizing young girls Ah Si's the only successor of the Daoming Group. and he has brought a girl home your future together....." Ximen said gripping her from the other side.
