I sat at my school desk looking at the clock. 5 more minutes. I quickly wrote down the notes from the whiteboard, very illegibly I might add, because the bitch teacher I have says you can only leave of the work is done, not to mention the fact that the 'you can't keep the students in after the bell' rule exists at my school. Did I have to go to school, and history? Finally, the bell. I closed my books and ran from the room to my locker. I left the building, and started walking to my house.
When I was a few houses down from mine, I could see someone leaning against my white fence. I noticed that it was a rather unhappy looking Luke as I got closer.
"hi Luke, what are you doing here" I smiled.
"What did you say to Ash last night?" he said sternly, ignoring my previous question.
"nothing, why? Is something wrong?"
"Well, he didn't say much last night, and he was up late mucking around with the skin of his drums, and he only does that when he's really upset."
"All I said was that he didn't need to beat the girls up for me because I could handle it" I simply shrugged.
"he did what!?" Luke asked, then awkwardly coughed. "um, anyway. Did you say anything else, that turned him off? Or made him less bubbly?"
"oh um. Well I did say that I didn't want to see a girly movie, because guys only take girls to see them on dates.."
"Emma. It was a date!!" he yelled, flapping his arms around at me. "He likes you, ya know. He said to all us boys that he was only going to hang out with you, but he told me everything else."
"well I wasn't supposed to know that, I just assumed he was being nice and friendly" I said emphasising the friend part. "I feel like such an idiot right now"
"yeah you must" Luke was trying to keep a straight face, but ended up bursting into laughter.
"oh shut up" I swatted his arm. "I'm going to go talk to him" I said, following Luke up to their house.
"Ashton " I mumbled, knocking on his bedroom door.
He slowly opened the door, his smile dropping when he saw me.
"what" she spoke.
"Can we talk? Please?"
"what? About how I need to stop beating up people who don't like you? How how I need to basically spell out the fact that I really really like you, and carry a sign with me saying 'hey I'm on a date with this girl' "
"I'm sorry. I just talked to Luke, and I honestly didn't think you wanted to go out with me -" I started
"Well, what do you think I was asking you? It was going to the movies. With no one else!" He said
"sorry, but no one has ever asked me out before, so I didn't really know..." I said quietly. "Please don't be angry"
A weak, sympathetic smile flashed across his face, disappearing as fast as it came. "I'm not mad, sorry for snapping."
"That's fine. well, I'll let you go now. bye" I muttered, looking down at my shoes and turning away.
"bye" he said "oh Emma, do you want to stay here for dinner? Me and the guys, were just gonna get pizza, and watch some movies together, whatever."
"Yeah I'd love to." I smiled.
"Hey Michael, get more pizza. Emmas staying" Ashton yelled.
"ok. What do ya wanna get, besides Hawaiian?" Michael yelled back.
