AS JOANNA was waiting for Violet to get back from her talk with Leah, the blonde found herself drawing once again. She had been finishing up her drawing of Violet when she heard voices from a distance away. Voices that sounded eerily like her mother. Joanna huffed to herself, knowing that whatever her mother was doing here couldn't be good. So she went down the stairs from where she had been sitting on the top step, following the voices into the kitchen.
She peeked behind her hiding spot to see Constance holding up a plate of cupcakes while talking to Vivien.
"So, uh, is Violet home? I'd like to hand these to her personally. I'm a sucker for penance," Constance remarked.
"No, she's - she's not here," Vivien replied.
"I'll come back."
Joanna narrowed her eyes in suspicion, wondering why her mother was so eager on giving Violet cupcakes. She barely knew her which made it that much more confusing. Thoughts of Beau popped up in her mind and she grimaced. Constance couldn't be trying to hurt Violet, could she?
"You have other kids?" Vivien asked, ultimately snapping Joanna out of her thoughts.
"I have five. I should've stopped after the first. My womb is cursed," Constance answered, "My husband was the spitting image of Van Johnson. You'd think we'd make little cherub children, fat and lively but it wasn't meant to be. I think our beauty was an affront to the gods."
