Doctor Who New Worlds Season 1

Episode 2 - The Raptor Experiment : Dr Michael Manum

"What's your shocked expression for?" asked Michael Manum, "This is why we enlisted you. You were sure you wouldn't give up this opportunity!" he began to get very angry. The Doctor backed off holding Amy's hand tightly. "Doesn't matter. I could do this single-handed." replied Michael, to himself. Just then, there was a slam at the door from downstairs.

They all raced down there to find a man dressed similarly to Dr Michael Manum, only with thick blond hair, very short. "Hello Doctor. I am Doctor Friedrich Komplize, from Germany."

Michael Manum looked confused. He pointed towards the Doctor (the Eleventh) who had a worried expression. Friedrich rushed over to Michael and shook him. "Obviously, there has been a mixup, sir. This is the Doctor who will be helping us" spurted Michael in a very nervous manner. 

"Nonsense" replied Friedrich, "check your records"

"Who is this man then?" questioned Michael. Friedrich asked the same. Friedrich loosened the grip around Michael's shoulders and they both began to pursuit the Doctor who began walking backwards at the same pace as Amy. 

"Uh, right, um. Clearly not us then, We'll be off..." said the Doctor in a high-pitched voice. You could tell he was worried. Suddenly, Michael shouted for security and the Doctor, grabbing Amy's hand, began to run. She was pushed forward with him.

The Doctor ran for the fire-exit doors. He turned right into an empty corridor and found a sign containing the information he hoped for. He sprinted towards the door, now with Amy tailing behind him. They pushed the doors open and breathed fresh air for the first time. They couldn't stop now though. The Doctor immediately ran across the road and up the block to avoid capture. Amy had already slowed to a halt however. Before she could realise, the Doctor had gone. Knowing she was on the verge of capture, she ran left towards where she thought the TARDIS might be. 

Dr Michael Manum and Dr Friedrich Komplize where back in their offices. They began pacing. 'Who were they? Why were they here?' were valid questions racing through their minds. Michael began talking about the dinosaurs to the new doctor there, reasonably, in an annoyed manner. The Doctor was annoyed too but at a different reason - Where was Amy?

Amy Pond had found herself in an alley that she had hoped the TARDIS was in but in this place was no nearby pizzeria.  She was sad but was happy to be away from the captors hands. She sat down for a few minutes just to process the situation and get her breath back.

The Doctor was pondering around New York. He decided to seek out the other blocks of the city, in the same similar setting. There were many of them. 

Meanwhile in the Science Lab, both doctors worked hard on the experiment. They used many chickens to do so, many died in the testing, many were made into horrible mutants, set loose onto the streets of New York. "Okay, Doctor Manum, when you flip this switch, it will turn this chicken into hopefully, a beautiful velociraptor! The event next Friday will bring us in billions of dollars! We'll be rich Komplize! Rich as the men who run this city!

Little did they know, that the Doctor was eavesdropping on their conversation. He had given up on his plans to go to the other blocks and got himself a ladder straight from the TARDIS. He had some trouble getting it out of the doors but carrying it to the building was relatively easy due to the empty streets. The sun was coming out. The Doctor estimated around five-fifty in the morning and more cars began to appear. 

Manum flipped the switch as hard as he could and lights began to flicker about a screen. the screen turned from black to blue to red to green, vibrant colours all around the room. The screen was a recording - live - and the chicken was mutated. it's body parts twitched in and out. His leg multiplied it's size, his head increased in a size. Teeth pushed themselves out of it's beak, which had been pushed inwards. Within mere seconds, it was a full blown velociraptor.

Immediately, it broke out of it's pen. The Doctor panicked. He knew something had to be done, to save these innocent lives but to reveal his position? The velociraptor grabbed a chicken by it's neck and through it away. The security guards took out their firearms but they managed to miss the dinosaur - it had dodged. 

Doctor Michael Manum ran over to the velociraptor's keeping area but all he found was several dead bodies, torn apart from the vicious beast. He called out to Komplize to tell the Mayor. The Dinosaurs had escaped. The Doctor jumped off the roof and had to find Amy. if the velociraptor had found her... He didn't want to think about it. He pulled out his sonic screwdriver and looked for the TARDIS, maybe she was there...

Meanwhile, Amy was looking around the streets of New York. People had began to emerge. The Dawn took up a beautiful spot in the sky, it made it orange with a gold glow. Amy couldn't bare but admire it as she walked down the town square. She stood out to the other new-yorkers in the city. She finally found the Pizzeria she had ate at before, and there was the alleyway. It was as if she had found her home after being lost. She turned round and ran down the alley before realising. The TARDIS was gone. Where could it have gone?

The Doctor whizzed around the city until realising that the signal had disappeared. He pondered the same thing? Out of the corner of his eye he did see the pizzeria and joined Amy where they hugged. Reuniting is one thing but saving the world from a velociraptor is another.

"We gotta stop the Velociraptor from getting out of that building. ASAP!" explained the Doctor

"It got out!" cried Amy. We began to worry about the future of New York.

"Well uh, Yes. It could be anywhere." replied the Doctor. he tried to comfort Amy but it was no use. we had two problems on our hand here. Where the location of the TARDIS is and How to stop the Velociraptor.
