Melanie
I woke up the next morning to the sound my alarm going off and my bed empty. There was a note on the pillow next to me. Sorry I left so early, last night was amazing. Call me later love. I put the note back on my pillow and turned off my alarm. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, unwrapped my hair and got dressed. I grabbed a bagel and a water and headed to work. I thought about whether I should text Taylor or if I should wait. I mean it is only eight in the morning. "Ehh maybe later." I said to myself.

Diamond
I woke up the next morning so confused. Melanie kissed me and then slept with Taylor. What the fuck? I got up and brushed my teeth and made me some breakfast. At least I had some time to myself today while she's at work. I don't even think I can be around her right now. I sat in the living room and watched tv while I ate. I couldn't stop thinking about Melanie and the kiss. We weren't kids anymore, this time we weren't pressured to do anything and yet she ran off like she was forced to kiss me. I just don't get it. Melanie text me and told me she wouldn't be home until seven o'clock so I'd be here by myself all day. I decided to text Darius to see if he wanted to come over. He agreed and told me he'd be here in twenty minutes. I went in my room and changed into some leggings and a loose fitting crop top. He arrived sooner than he said he'd be here.
"Heyyyyy." I said letting him in.
"Wassup." He said as he went in for a hug. I embraced him with a friendly hug after closing the front door.
"Were you busy? I feel like I just intervened in the middle of your plans for today." I said innocently.
"Nah, I was at home chilling. I'm actually glad you text me."
"Why glad?" I asked raising my eyebrow.
"Don't look at me like that. You're just good company that's all." He chuckled.
"Aw okay." I said as I laughed with him.
"Can I ask you a question?" He asked as the laughter died down.
"Yeah sure."
"Why aren't you interested in me? You think I'm ugly or I'm gonna play you or something?"
I started to laugh again until I realized he was serious. "No it's not that Darius. I think you're handsome and you may be a great guy to be with. You're just not my type."
"What is your type then?" He asked, squinting his eyebrows.
"What made you even ask me this?" I asked trying to avoid his question.
"Well the other night when Taylor and I came over you seemed uncomfortable. Not with me. With Taylor and Melanie." He said hesitantly.
"No I just felt ambushed, we already talked about this."
"It was more than you just feeling ambushed Diamond."
"Fine you wanna know the truth?"
"Uh yeah that's kinda why I asked you."
I felt my skin get hot and my heart was beginning to beat out of my chest. Was I really about to tell him. "I'm a lesbian." I blurted out.
His eyes widened and his jaw dropped and then his face softened. "I knew I wasn't ugly. But it all makes sense now." He said playfully.
"What makes sense now?"
"The reason why you were uncomfortable around Melanie and Tay means that you're into one of them obviously."
"U-uh no I'm not." I stammered.
"It's okay. You don't have to tell me anything, but I know."
"Whatever. You don't know what you're talking about." I said crossing my arms.

After the conversation died down, we watched tv and talked until Melanie came home. I guess Darius could feel the tension between us because he left soon after she got home. Melanie went in her room and closed the door behind her. I couldn't stand not talking to her and I hated that everything was so awkward now. I had to talk to her. I walked to her bedroom door and softly knocked. "Mel can we talk?"
