Chapter 23

Diamond
It's been almost three weeks since I've moved back in with Melanie and I wouldn't want it any other way. We decided to take our relationship a step further and things have been going great. Although everything seemed to be going great, I could tell that something was off with Melanie but I couldn't put my finger on it.

It was four o'clock and Melanie would be getting home from work soon so I decided to clean up and start dinner. Melanie left some steaks out that she was going to make when she got home. I seasoned the meat and placed it in the oven. I took out some red potatoes and boiled them. By the time I got everything started, Melanie was walking through the door.
"Ohhh it smells so good in here, you started dinner?" She asked as she walked over to me. I gave her peck on the lips, "Yeah I figured you'd be tired when you got off, so I decided to get things started for you."
"You're so sweet." She said as she hugged me. "I'm gonna hop in the shower real quick and then I'll take over."
"Okay love." I said letting her go. She went into the room and closed the door behind her. I heard a vibration on the counter and realized she had left her phone. I looked at the caller ID and to my surprise it was Taylor. I picked up the phone but I didn't say anything.
"Babe I've been calling you all day, why haven't you been answering me? I thought you weren't around Diamond when I called." She exclaimed. I just sat on the phone not saying a word.
"Hellooooo....? Melanie can you hear me?" She asked annoyed. I hung up the phone and slammed it on the counter.
"Diamond what the fuck? What's wrong with you!?" Melanie exclaimed.
"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you?" I shouted.
"What are you talking about? Who were you just talking to?"

Just then Melanie's phone started to vibrate again, it was Taylor. Melanie walked over to her phone and rolled her eyes. "What does she want?" She said as if she was annoyed.
"Don't try to play dumb. You know what she wants!" I snapped.
"W-what are you talking about?"
"You've still been seeing Taylor haven't you?"
"N-no are you crazy?" She stammered.
"There's no need to lie Melanie. I know the truth."
"What are you talking about?"
"You're still seeing her! Just tell me the truth!" I shouted.
"It's not like that."
"Then what the fuck is it like Melanie? Let me know cause right now you're not making any sense."
"I have been talking to her and I have seen her a few times but it's nothing serious." She admitted.
"Nothing serious? Nothing serious Melanie? It seems pretty fucking serious to me since she's calling you babe and you guys can only talk when I'm not around!"
"We're not together so what the fuck does it matter to you!" She spat. Her words cut me like a knife.
"You know what? You're right." I grabbed my jacket and my phone and left. She tried calling my name to stop me but I ignored her.

I needed to take a walk to cool down. How could she do this to me after everything I've been through? After everything Taylor's put her through? She was right though, we aren't together so I can't control who she talks to but Taylor of all people? I know this is nothing but Aniyah's doing and she needed to be stopped.
