Melanie
After the doctors treated my wound I sat in the hospital waiting area waiting for them to let me see Diamond. Taylor, unfortunately didn't make it and Aniyah was in critical condition. My leg shook uncontrollably as I thought of everything that could go wrong. The doctor finally came out and approached me, "Alright ma'am, Diamond is now awake and able to see visitors but there's something you should know." My heart began to pound and my body got hot, "W-What's wrong?" I asked hesitantly.
"Well Melanie, Diamond suffered a severe concussion due to the amount of times she was hit in the head and the amount of force that was used. There's some memory loss, she remembers Aniyah and you but everything else right now is a blur." The doctor explained to me as we made our way to her room. I sighed softly before opening the door, "Diamond?" I said as I slowly entered. She was lying in the hospital bed with gauzes wrapped around her head. The swelling on her face went down drastically and she was now recognizable.
"Hey Mel. What are you doing here?" She said as she weakly smiled.
"I-I came to see you Dee." I said as I fought back tears.
"All the way from Ohio? Wow!" She exclaimed.
"No Dee, you're in Ohio. You came to visit me and you got hurt really bad."
"Oh how long have I been here?"
"It's been almost two months. You're supposed to be going back home in a couple of weeks." I said as I sat next to her bed. She tried sitting up but she was in too much pain.
"I don't feel so well." She said as she laid back down.
"Just try to relax Dee, can I get you anything?"
"Some water would be nice."
I got up and went to the nurse's station and got a cup of ice and some water for Diamond. I started thinking, if she doesn't remember coming to visit me that means she doesn't remember us kissing or how she really feels about me and honestly I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Diamond
Melanie walked back into the room with a cup of ice and a bottle of water and then the doctor came in soon after her.
"How are you feeling?" He asked as he checked my eyes.
"I'm in a little pain here and there but I'm fine." I said as he continued to check me out.
"Well you should be getting discharged here soon. You are to be strictly on bed rest and then follow up with me in one week. I will write you a prescription for some pain medication as well." He said as he took one last look at me.
"Okay."
"Alrighty, get well soon." He said as he left the room.

Diamond poured some of the water over the ice and handed me the cup. "Do you need help?" She asked hesitantly.
"No I think I got it." I said as I took the cup from her. I drank until there was nothing but ice left. Melanie grabbed the cup from me and sat it on the bedside table. I was happy to see a familiar face after seeing countless doctors and nurses in my face all night but there was something different about Melanie. She was very sympathetic and caring, not saying that she never was but she cared differently than a best friend would.
The nurse came in with my discharge papers and my prescription and told me I was free to go. Melanie put me in a wheelchair and took me to the car. She helped me in and made sure I was comfortable before pulling off. We arrived at a familiar building, it must be Melanie's. She helped me inside and sat me on the couch. "Do you want to lay down in bed or do you want to sit out here?" She asked as she took off her shoes and jacket.
"I want to shower before I lay down." I told her.
"Okay, do you think you can stand on your own or do you want me to help you?"
"Can you sit in the bathroom just in case?" I asked.
"Sure bab- Dee." She stuttered. Did she almost call me babe?
She walked me to a familiar bathroom, I saw things of mine on the counter which means I was staying here prior to my incident. She turned on the shower for me and adjusted it to the perfect temperature. She sat on the toilet seat while I washed up, I stumbled a few times and she was there to catch me every time. When I got out she dried me off, put lotion on me and helped me dress.
"Is this my room?" I asked innocently.
"Yeah." She said softly.
"Can I lay in your room?" I asked. I didn't want to lay by myself and she was already taking such good care of me.
"Y-yeah, of course." She said. She walked me to her room and got my settled in bed before showering. I drifted off to sleep soon after. I felt a soft kiss on my forehead in my sleep causing me to softly smile, Melanie crawled into bed next to me and soon fell asleep too.
