Chapter 6

Titan's POV

..."I really don't understand that girl. You know, she didn't use to be like that. She was actually a really sweet girl. They met his sophomore year in college. But after she got pregnant with Greg she just became a whole different person. Titan just refuses to see it...."

I'm beyond pissed and hurt. I didn't know that my mom felt that way about Tonya. I mean yes she has changed, but so have I. She's just having a harder time adjusting to parenthood. It wasnt in our plans to get pregnant in college. She's doing the best that she can. I won't give up on her just because she's figuring things out.

Why is she telling other people instead of coming to me though. This is my business, not someone else's. Especially someone who isn't even family. Don't get me wrong, Emerald is really nice. She's very quiet and sweet. She doesn't seem like the type of person to tell others business so I'm not worried about her repeating anything, but I still like my privacy. I see she's in a bikini but hasn't stepped foot in the ocean, so I run over to stop them from talking and snatch up Emerald. I make eye contact with my mom, who immediately looks away.

"You know you're a lot lighter than I thought. You must float very easily."

She screams "Titan put me down!"

"Or what buttercup? Hey that rhymes ha!"

"I swear to goodness if you don't put me down..."

"Your wish is my command buttercup."

"No no no Titan don't I.." I lift her up and toss. I walked in pretty deep so I know she won't hit the ocean bottom. So she'll be okay.

I smile while everyone else starts laughing. After a couple of steps I realize everyone is quiet and looking behind me still. I turn around and realize she still hasn't surfaced. Shit. Before I can move forward I'm shoved out of the way by my brother, X.
