Hizashi was sitting at home alone, his face buried in the palms of his hands as he leaned against the counter top trying to regain his composure.
Aizawa had left during a fight. Both of them knew it was for the best that he left, but he left on a note that shook Hizashi to his core and compiled him with guilt and fear. He could hear it all playing over in his head like a record stuck playing one part of a track, and it was such a vivid memory.
A crack of pain had struck Aizawa's voice, the man who had hateful energy radiating off of him with a look so intimidating it kept Hizashi still and on guard.
But that small little crack, a crack that only wavered when on the verge of tears.
That crack broke away everything that made him seem scary because Hizashi knew what lay behind a angry face.
A scared boy who was angry at the world and didn't know why or what he should do.
Hizashi knew those broken pieces like the back of his hand and he knew how to put them back together ever so gently and comfort Aizawa.
He knew he could until he heard that sad voice yelling out,
"If I really hurt you that bad I'll leave, it's what you want anyway!"
Aizawa knew that is not what Hizashi wanted. He knew deep down that's what he told himself when he was scared and felt alone. Now Hizashi felt a little broken too.
He gripped the counter top, wanting to bash his head into a wall as he let tears drip down, watching the small droplets glisten against the marble countertop in the kitchen light. His breath shook like shuttering blinds in the wind.
He felt him lips tremble and turned to his home made DJ station.
He connected the station and cleared his voice as he pulled the headset over his ears, lining the microphone up to his lips.
"Alright listeners. I'm going through a tough time, and I know some of you are too. How about we listen to some sad songs together?" Hizashi said through the mic, making sure his voice was clear of cracks and clear of any weaknesses.
He pulled his playlist up and the first song showed up. He pushed the screen, watching the song flash and it started to play.Hizashi inhaled and leaned back in his chair, listening to the song ring through his ears as he let tears stream down the sides of his cheeks, wondering when or if Aizawa was coming home.
He removed the headset and turned his radio up. The tears came faster with the chorus and he breathed shakily, gripping the armrests of his chair until his knuckles turned white. Pain ruptured his heart and he leaned his head back so his vibrant green eyes gazed upon the cracks in the ceiling. The tears rushed out faster and he bit his bottom lip to keep those sounds in, his heart falling to the bottom of his chest.
I'm so sorry baby.
Hizashi thought to himself as he felt his lip crack, blood slowly seeping onto the top of his tongue.
He breathed out almost like a gasp as he released his lip from his teeth. He stayed there listening to the music playing for what seemed like hours, listening for steps near the door. He knew he couldn't sleep even if he wanted to.
So he sat with half open eyes staring at the ceiling, being completely useless.
He hadn't tried to call. He hadn't tried to find Aizawa. He just sat and listened to the mix of music and Aizawa's pitiful words, that crack rupturing his thoughts every time. He didn't want to feel this way but he would never try to cheer himself up.
He had angered Aizawa with sharp words about Aizawa's lack of sleep, care and his increasing drinking habits.
He sighed heavily as he remembered the fight breaking out and it played again.God I hate your beautiful voice.
Hizashi hissed to he image of his husband, slowly letting his eyes fall. He didn't know what time it was, or how long he'd been sitting there, or how much longer he'd be there.
He started to lazily utter out song lyrics as tears started sting his eyes once more.He didn't even hear his front door open.
He just laid in his chair, uttering out desperate and weak songs to distract himself from the pain that endured his heart.
What initially got his attention was the door slamming.
He lifted his head as his muscles jolted.
He turned with wide eyes and backed away with fear, his vision too blurry to see it was Aizawa.
Hizashi blinked a bit with his heart racing, feeling his muscles tensing up.
Aizawa looked at Hizashi with confusion though it held the heaviest burden on Aizawa's heart to see his husband so afraid of him.
He looked at the dried tears that seemed to glisten against Hizashi's skin and he felt his heart quiver.
"Shō?" Hizashi uttered out with heavy despair, but it wasn't for attention. He truly couldn't control it anymore. Aizawa noticed Hizashi's missing glasses and sighed a little.
Aizawa stayed quiet and walked over to Hizashi, though he didn't get too close before Hizashi was already shoving his chair away and taking Aizawa down to the ground in a tight hug.
Aizawa gasped as the wind left his body, his natural instinct was to get angry but instead he just hugged back and caressed Hizashi's hair.
He was a little more shaken when he felt hot tears hitting his neck where Hizashi hid himself safely.
"I love you so much Aizawa." Hizashi cried, letting all the noises he wanted out.
"I would never forgive myself if something happened to you." Hizashi added quickly, his words spilling out like a broken dam.Their bodies tangled close, sealed together with tears and pitiful words. They laid there together in the middle of the doorway cuddling until Hizashi had sobbed himself to sleep.
Then, Aizawa lifted Hizashi's limp body off of the floor and carried his husband to their bedroom, laying him down in a bed of fluffy pillows and their big comforter.
He watched his husband's body settle deep into relaxation and sighed weakly as Hizashi's words cracked through his thoughts.
He thought about the desperate words that had spilled out of Hizashi's mouth and how many times he coughed through sobs and how many times he was ripped apart by Hizashi's sorrows and sobbing.
Aizawa leaned into Hizashi's chest and clenched him tightly, tears seeping into Hizashi's T-shirt.
"Ow-" Hizashi hissed and arched away from Aizawa's grip, his eyes peeling open.
Aizawa looked up quickly with worry.
"I'm sorry." Aizawa said quickly and then looked away.
Hizashi paused with swelled eyes and exhaled softly, pulling Aizawa up close.
"I love you Aizawa. And I couldn't live without you." He uttered out against Aizawa's skin, closing his eyes again.
"I'm sorry I hurt you so bad to drive you to those thoughts, but they're wrong." Hizashi said softly and caressed Aizawa's cheek gently.
"All I ever want is you in my arms." Hizashi said lastly, pulling Aizawa closer.
