Aizawa lifted his head from the book he was reading on his couch when he heard a knock on the door.
Emi invited herself in with a big grin on her face.
"Let's go, big guy!" She giggled and Aizawa rolled his eyes.
"The movie isn't for another 30 minutes." Aizawa chimed as he marked a page in his book.
"We have to go!" She snapped back and Aizawa sighed softly before he lifted himself back up off the couch, stretching his arms up above his head.
Aizawa followed Emi to her car and sat in the passenger seat, buckling his seatbelt.
"Calm down, I'm not going to kill you!" Emi joked and Aizawa raised an eyebrow.
"It's illegal to not wear a seatbelt." He said and Emi laughed softly, snorting a few times. That pushed Aizawa to smile and he gazed out the window all the way to the movie theatre, mindlessly listening to Emi babble on about how excited she was about their 10th "date", when really movie nights had become their thing since Hizashi and Aizawa broke up.
They walked into the theater together and found their cinema, Emi excitedly pumped her fists as she walked down the hallway. They were seeing a horror movie together because they'd been trying out other genres.
"E12 and 13!" Emi smiled as she walked down the rows. There were few people in the theatre so far, seems how they we're early.
Aizawa slid past seats, sighing softly about the fact that he was farther to the right. Emi only rolled her eyes and jabbed him playfully, which started an exchange of sarcastic comments and small jokes.
The lights started to dim and the multiple cola commercials and "silence your phone" reminders were over and the show was ready to begin.
"Where is E14?" A soft voice in the background echoed out. Though Aizawa froze when he'd recognized that loud, obnoxious voice.
"Shōta?" Emi nudged Aizawa softly and Aizawa snapped back into reality.
"You're in his seat-" Emi whispered and Aizawa looked up, his eyes leading right to Hizashi's. Aizawa felt his heart flutter when Hizashi smiled.
"Sh-" He started to speak and Aizawa cut him off, standing up and moving over to the seat Emi had sat in before. He had his breath as Hizashi sat next to him, staying silent and not taking his eyes off the screen.
Hizashi didn't say anything either, looking towards his group of friends.
"Who's he?" A friend asked, leaning forward.
"A colleague." Aizawa said, answering before Hizashi could.
Emi looked at Shō and raised an eyebrow.
"I'm Emi. This is Aizawa." She said in a friendly tone.
"I'm Hizashi Yamada." The blonde said, ignoring his friends.
Emi's smile faded into a plain look.
"Oh yeah, I've heard of you." She said.
She sounded less friendly now.
Aizawa stiffened and he looked at Emi a Hizashi laughed nervously and tucked himself back into his seat.

Things had ended between Hizashi and Aizawa horribly, leaving the two to ignore each other completely. Hizashi didn't ask for help in events anymore, and Aizawa didn't ask Hizashi to come over late at night and grade papers anymore. These are things they did even before they were dating. They didn't work as hero's at the same time, and Aizawa never turned his radio to Hizashi's station. Hizashi never got a cat, and Aizawa never kept any of Hizashi's old gifts.
They erased one another completely.
That's why the movies were so hard. when they were dating, they loved going to movies.
Hizashi would wrap his arm behind Shōta's seat and eat all the popcorn and laugh at every joke. Aizawa would laugh too, sometimes. But that's only because Hizashi's laugh was contagious.

Aizawa fixed his eyes on the screen and relaxed a little, until the movie got funny.
His heart twinged the first time he heard Hizashi's uncontrollable laugh. He felt lonely.
But Emi laughed harder, tears filling her eyes as she watched the screen. Her laugh made Aizawa smile though he hated it because she laughed all the time. He just couldn't help it, seeing her so happy.
Joke after joke laughs emerged and Emi leaned forward, holding her gut from laughing. Every time she laughed, Aizawa forgot about Hizashi.
He finally started to enjoy the movie until Hizashi leaned in close to Aizawa's ear.
"That guy reminds me of you." Hizashi said with a smile, pointing to the screen. Aizawa was stiff and he blinked before turning his head.
"..Yeah." Aizawa said quietly, showing his discomfort when he looked away.
So Hizashi didn't talk the rest of the movie. He hardly even laughed.  They sat in the dark room, pictures displaying non stop.
He didn't even talk to his friends, while giggled and joked. They even tried to lighten Hizashi up, but he would just simply nod and watch mindlessly. It's because he had his own movie playing in his head. He though about how close him and Aizawa used to be. They'd been best friends since high school, and now Aizawa didn't even want to talk to him. The reality of it hurt. It had been 7 months since they'd last spoke. They only had to see one another in meetings for UA and in the teachers lounge. Otherwise they didn't interact and though Hizashi had thought about it many times, he could never bring himself back to Aizawa.
He was afraid. Afraid of being hurt again. Afraid of losing Aizawa again. Just, afraid.

They continued through the rest of the movie that way. And Aizawa was completely okay with that until the credits on the screen came through and Aizawa stood up. His legs ached and he groaned softly as he stretched his arms over his head.
"Hey Aizawa." A soft voice in the background called and he turned towards Hizashi. Hizashi was already gone, but a friend he'd come with had stayed.
"We we're all going to the bar later, and I think it would be cool if you came. To patch things up with Hizashi." She said softly. She had long brown hair and rosy cheeks. She had big green eyes and she was very short, maybe 4'11.
Aizawa paused and looked away.
"I think I'll pass. Thank you though." He said quietly.
She pouted to herself and then pulled out her phone.
"Well if you change your mind, we'll be at the bar on main. 7:00." She said softly and turned, leaving Aizawa and Emi behind.
"So Shō.." Emi started.
"What are you going to do?" She asked softly with a smile.
  Aizawa paused and looked away.
"I don't know." He said defeatedly. Emi poked him and raised a brow.
"This could be good for you!" She gushed and walked Aizawa out of the theatre.
Aizawa stayed quiet and nodded as they walked out to the parking lot.
He got into the car silently and looked across the parking lot.
Hizashi and his friends walked down the isle talking.
Hizashi was standing next to a taller man. He was wearing a shirt t-shirt that showed his muscle. He had a handsome smile and raven black hair.
Hizashi smiled wide while walking next to him, and there was a look in Hizashi's eyes that made Aizawa sick.
Hizashi was in love.
He felt his stomach churn, and when reality couldn't get worse, Hizashi looked at Aizawa. His smile faded.
Aizawa knew then and there that he couldn't go to that bar.
He didn't want to think of what would happen.
He looked away from Hizashi and down at the floor, hiding his jealousy.
Why was he jealous!?
He had no reason to be!
He had no right to be jealous.

He stayed silent as Emi got in the car. She turned up the radio and smiled wide as she jammed out to the music blasting through the radio. Aizawa, on the other hand, kept his gaze out the window. It started to rain, small droplets hitting the window softly as if knocking on the glass, asking to come in.
Aizawa still felt the guilt and jealousy find him and he wanted it gone.
"Emi, take me to the bar on main." Aizawa said.
Emi looked over in surprise and Aizawa looked away.
"You're going to do it?" She asked happily.
Aizawa didn't answer and furrowed his brow. He didn't know if he could do it.
But why not try it out?  He thought.
So when his stop came,he thanked Emi for the movie and shut the door, turning to the bar. He rushed in to get out of the rain and looked around uncomfortably.
People bustled about and he stood still.
He pushed through people and sat at a stool, ordering drinks for himself.

He tossed down one, and then another. This repeated for God knows how long, but Aizawa knew his pain was gone.
But he still wasn't ready when Hizashi walked in.
