The solders arrive at the Reed Swamp filled with fear of what they know it can do. They slowly walk forward into it squeezing there swords and bows tightly. Hagan is in the lead with his bow ready to fire at anything that moves.
The swamp knows that they have come to pass through. It has taken the side of the Harriett Children for what they offered them, protection. The swamp slowly lifts its tentacles out of the water to strangle the men.
It slowly one by one takes the men from behind. Hagan senses something is wrong. He looks behind and fires his arrow straight into one of the tentacles of the swamp before another man can be taken under the water to drown.
All the men look to the sides and see the tentacles coming straight at them. Hagan tries to take out as many as possible. The men tried their best to fight them off.
"Run!", Shouted Hagan
All the men ran for the exit of this swamp, most of them died. Hagan and some of the stronger men almost make it out before the tentacles of the swamp grab their feet and drags them under the water.
Hagan pulls out his dagger and begins to cut the swamps grip. He goes to help some of the men that were struggling. He saves them and saves himself. They all grab their dropped possessions and run to the exit. They make it out barely with their lives.
"You did well soldiers", Said Hagan
"This was only the beginning of our adventure, i hope not to lose any more of you", Said Hagan
"Yes sir", Said the men
"Let us rest and then continue our journey in the morning", Said Hagan
The men set up camp and take turns watching whats out there, deep in the forest wait to strike.
