Warning! Mentions of blood. I'm sorry if this chapter hurts anyone's heart because it hurt mine while writing it...
The day of Seokjin and Namjoon's appointment arrives. They load into the car early in the morning (it's a long drive, and Namjoon's top priority is keeping his fiancee comfortable and happy) and receive well wishes from the other members before they're on their way. The drive is uneventful; Namjoon plays chill, lo-fi music on a low volume while Seokjin sleeps somewhat peacefully in the passenger seat.
At around midday, they arrive at the hospital where Dr. Park Chanyeol's office is, leaving them with enough time to eat a meal at the small cafe next door and talk about how they're going to approach Seokjin's unknown issue with the doctor.
"Joonie, I want to tell him everything."
"What do you mean, love? We did that the other day when we were with Dr. Kim."
"There's more." Seokjin fidgets in his seat and looks down at his hands that had previously been hovering over the now empty bowl of noodles in front of him. "Something you don't know."
Namjoon leans across the small table and gently caresses his mate's cheek. "You can tell me. Whatever it is, I won't be upset."
The omega closes his eyes and feels a single tear trickle down his cheek. "It's the pups. Last night, I woke up feeling like something was horribly wrong. There was some blood on the sheets under me, but I didn't want to wake you up." He takes a deep breath. "I covered the blood stain with a towel and changed my clothes quickly. Then I changed the sheets while you took a shower." He finally opens his eyes again to look at Namjoon. "I'm sorry..."
Namjoon has to try harder than he usually does to squash down his emotions and be the strong, level-headed alpha he knows Seokjin needs right now. He manages a soft, genuine smile after a few minutes. "It's alright. You don't have to be sorry, Jinnie. We'll get this figured out at the doctor, alright?" The omega can only nod as he wipes at his teary eyes with now shaky hands. "Why don't you go to the bathroom and wash your face with cool water, and then we'll head over to the doctor."
"Okay Joonie." The alpha is quick to round the table and help the omega to his feet, kissing him gently on his forehead before sending him off to the bathroom. He glances down at the seat Seokjin had been occupying and pales at the sight of blood on the surface of it. He immediately runs to the bathroom and opens the door just in time to catch Seokjin before he can hit the floor after losing consciousness.
"Jinnie?!" He holds his omega close and tries to gently shake him awake. He feels wetness and looks down to see blood completely soaking through the omega's pants and seeping into his own jeans. "Someone help!!" He shouts as he sits against the wall holding Seokjin in his lap. "Help me!!" He yells more loudly as he starts to cry.
A woman wearing scrubs throws open the door, takes one look at them, and pulls out her phone. "My name is Seulgi and I work at Dr. Park's office," she says as a short explanation. She puts her phone up to her ear. "Hi, Chanyeol-ssi. I'm at that cafe next door with a couple in the bathroom who I'm guessing were about to come see you." Namjoon nods through tears in confirmation. Seulgi relays the situation as quickly as she can, and she and the doctor exchange a few more words before the call ends. "He'll be here with a stretcher and a team of nurses really soon."
"Thank you." Namjoon and Seulgi do what they can to make Seokjin more comfortable, and the female doctor presses a cool paper towel to the omega's forehead as Dr. Park arrives. The alpha refuses to be more than a foot away from his mate, his eyes flashing red due to the anger and possessiveness he feels, and the team of people relents and lets him ride on the stretcher with his mate.
