Act 3 scene 3

It's been three weeks already since the scheme was handed to the three Royalty representatives who will be writing the scholarship aptitude test. Mr. Kayode, who happens to be the ACSP Invigilator is present to take these three to their centre. In later sequences of this scene, Jide's mother pulls a surprise return.

Principal: Welcome. Mr. Kayode, right.

Mr. Kayode: Oh yes, sir. You are the principal?

Principal: Yes, I am. You are most welcome sir. The students have worked their heads out these past weeks. They have been going through series of lessons after school and I believe with all the training they can bring it home.

Mr. Kayode: That is what we want to see. We have the notion that we can come together to promote education and improve the standards of these students.

Principal: Yes. I heard you now do it online.

Mr. Kayode: Yes. We are trying to adopt the CBT style. But, since we have not had series of it in the past years, we will start this year. Your school has won the scholarship before. In 1997, your school won and in 2009, you came close.

Principal: Well, as at 1997, I was in my final year of university.

Mr. Kayode: What university did you attend?

Principal: Obafemi Awolowo University.

Mr. Kayode: I went to Nsukka.

Principal: Wow, that was a very big school then.

Mr. Kayode: A lot has changed since then.

Principal: Let's go see the students then.

Mr. Kayode: Yes, sure.

(In the classroom)

Mr. Tony: Now, the truth is your examination is going to be directly on your computer. So, all of you listen, this examination is not just about you, it's also about Royalty. What we represent, what we inculcate and what we stand for. The moment you get your questions, try as much as you can not to waste time on the one you find difficult. Please don't waste time. I know we've gone through this before but it is important that we go through it again. These are the basics of every examination. Last but not the least, endeavor to remain calm at all times. Please forget about the pressures and focus on your system. Oh, they are here.

Principal: Yes, we are here. At this point, Mr. Kayode meet Mr. Tony the Vice principal.

Mr. Tony: Good to meet you sir.

Mr. Kayode: Same. So, You three will be representing your school.

(Chorus) Yes.

Mr. Kayode: I see, so Principal, I believe I can take it from here.

Principal: Yes sure. I believe Mr. Tony has been able to enlighten them enough. With all being said students, in each one of you, you have the opportunity to write your names on history and with the way things are now, everything you do will be out by tomorrow morning. You just have to do your best. I believe that's all.

Mr. Kayode: With that being said, lets head to your examination centre.

Principal: Please write well oh.

(Within some minutes, they pull up in front of a building where they see color codes of different peoples especially students).

Nonye: Are we here, Sir?
